      My NEW Flying Technique

Lately I've been trying to increase the length of my LDs. I've experienced about 2 lucids every other night for about a month now. Half of these I would say lasted 5 minutes (in this reality). The remainder varied from 6 to 8 minutes, with an exception of a couple of very superb LDs with a 10min+ duration.

As most of you know staying calm and controling your breathing in the Lucid state is very important. Strenuous activity and excitement can easily leave you in the void, or even worse waking .

But Lucids are supposed to be about doing those things you've always imagined. How can you do everything you want and NOT get too excited?
Flying, Running, Manifesting things, creating DCs, changing dream scenarios, throwing kamehamehas WEWT (if you will ) requires alot of concentration (atleast on my behalf). So to reduce the effort required to perform these feats i've been reading/experimenting on different methods.

This is for those of you who love flying as much as I do, for those who just like to soar into the horizon leaving all your troubles behind. I call it the Pushed by the feet method.

Its simple just as its name states, imagine a force below your feet pushing you in the direction you want to go. I find this method ALOT easier than the rubber-band techniques(Imagining yourself being pulled towards something) and the simple concentration floating methods. I find that I can go twice as fast and maneuver alot better using this technique. I developed it because I wanted to carry someone while flying. In the past I've been using the rubberband tech. but sometimes it feels like I run out of energy after carrying someone so far.

I also get a more 'natural' feeling using this technique. Because of that horrible force we call gravity, the bottoms of our feet touch the ground for the majority of the day. So by doing this technique it uses a feel that your body more readily experiences.

Thanks for reading, and I'm VERY sorry if this technique has already been made

Pretty good way of flying actually. As long as I can remember I've always tried to fly with the wind, but somehow the wind starts to go out of control trapping me to the point where I cannot move anywhere else. This "Force" you mentioned is actually a great idea. I feel that this I can manipulate much better than the wind. Thx for the Tip. I really found it much useful than I thought

There is no such thing as flying technique, just fly. I mean, its a dream.

I do consider myself a natural, before I even knew what lucid dreaming was I was experiencing about one LD a week. This usually occured in bad dreams; in result, I'd force myself to wake up. I started studying lucid dreaming in order to turn around these nightmares/terrors.

I usually sleep for 4 core hours then try to WILD, sometimes it works, and alot of times it induces a MILD. (Dream Recall and RCs play a huge factor) If you question everything during the day, you'll carry this habbit with you to the dream world.

Flying IS that amazing, atleast imo. When you get your feet off the ground, try to feel the wind going through your hair, or feel the sun against your back. Engage as many senses as you can at one time, it enhances the experience (also aids with dream stability and lucidness)

There is such thing as a flying technique. To do so easily I just put my hand down to the ground and force energy downward. This is flying ina differt kidna way

Real easy for you to say if you don't believe in gravity. Apparently you havent flown before.

Your dreamworld is created through your perception of the real world, and it carries some of the laws of physics with it. Denouncing these laws and acknowledging that this is YOUR world and you have control over EVERYTHING in its existence (and everything NOT in existence... yet ) is a huge step in enabling some people to manipulate their dreams.

Interesting that you would mention this, because thats the way I fly. I imagine that something is "pushing" my feet and I just soar upwards. I started doing this when I was about 10 years old and got lucid in a dream. I had these rocket shoes, and that was my first controllable flight. After that I just started to fly without the rocket part and it works great. I don't actually "push myself where I want to go" though. I twist my body mimicking what you would do if you could magically be propelled while swimming underwater to change my direction. The best part for me is that you don't need to think too much about it since you only have to imagine that your feet are being pushed.

Yea! Exactly, I needed something that wasn't as strenuous. To change directions all I do is lean, or cock one foot up. Superman style. XD

Flying has got to be one of the funnest things I've done so far. Although, I haven't done much. I'm not a natural to lucid dreaming, but I somewhat consider myself a natural flyer. From as long ago as I can remember until about the age of 11-12 I would be a magical android in my dreams and flying of course then became second nature because I grew up thinking my dream world was magical and I could do anything. I hadn't ever experience a lucid dream until about 6-9 months ago though. Sad, but at least I'm on the band wagon now.

That's an interesting flying technique. Usually I just think about going into the air and I just kinda go. It almost feels like walking, but I have had trouble keeping height some times. I'll try your method, sounds very pratical.

Also, I too am having problems with dream length. It's dificult for me to stay in my dreams sometimes. Especially when it's dark and hard to see. The longest dreams I've had, 15 minutes +, have been very bright and sunny. I'm trying to work on a way to make it brighter in my dreams so that I can stay in my dreams a little longer.

      Cool post. Thanks.

P.S. Your kamehameha suggestion made me think about the Little Nemo in Dreamland staff. Boy am I going to blast some fools screaming, "PAJAMA PAJAMA PAJAMA!" next time I go lucid. haha

k i reality checked with a lightswitch in my dream this morning it didnt work so i started ld'ing and trying this foot propulsion technique, but i kept only gettting like 3 feet off the ground. I think it has to do with me not changing the scene because i was inside, i felt restrained, and my control is still pretty bad at this time, but i did feel it working.

I used to have to flap to fly, and it was dead hard to get my flapping rhythmn right.

But one night I just imagined myself like a rocket, with something powering me along. Now I can do it with ease, I just have to jump really high and then just fly.

Haha you got that from DBZ. One of the older episodes. I used to watch it when I was littler. But anyways when I fly I have to get momentum. I have to like jump and then do a little swoop and then go forward. Here's a picture to help explain it better.

My body has to move like a snake.

After I do that then I can go as high as I want.

It's funny because my dad was my flying helper in one of my lucid dreams and he was the one to show me how to fly like that.

i think it is posible to do the same in the "real world" as in the "dream world" but its easy to do it in the dream world, as we do not have any considerations that somethings are "imposible" in the dream world... LD "i think" is one step closer to the simple truth... as it is mutch easyer to accept in a "dream world" then it is in this "real world" where we think there is actualy nature laws that we have to follow... if you think about it, its not every one aplying to these nature laws...example: the bumple bee

My own flying always seemed rather slow and clumsy, so (like Yosemine) I once imagined a pair of "rocket boots" on my feet (like the ones Spock once wore in a Star Trek movie). The problem was... they worked a little TOO well. I immediately shot upwards at tremendous speed and felt the "physics" of what was happening taking its toll on my ankles (yes, they actually started to ache as I struggled to control the power). I just about went into orbit with these boots... which wasn't exactly what I had in mind!

I know, Fly is very amazing. =D. but do you really have to use any method to fly? i flew just by concentrating on flying and enjoy being in the air. =)

i usually fly by just jumping up and everything spins around for a second after i've jumped bet when everything stops i'm in the air and can fly pretty easily.

In one of the two lucid dreams i have had, the first one i used this exact technique. Really, i got the idea from the show Heroes. The feet pushing me of the ground and soaring through the air. The first time it was very brief and now flying is sometimes incorporated into my dreams, but not in my control.

Flight is effortless for me. I simply will myself to fly and I do.

I had a very brief lucid yesterday morning and had a delicious slow, floaty flight (intentionally; I can go as fast as I want).

It was rather wonderful, casually floating over to my window and phasing through the glass to go outside.
