Ideas to assist with dream control.

I've been getting better at lucid dreaming, (as in, I have been having more,) and I have devised a plan to make dream control easier for myself and possibly others! Spare me as I have yet to actually attempt this.

So, say you've played Minecraft, or some other game with commands or a settings option, such as your computer or phone. When you become lucid, you could try to use those commands by talking, such as saying,

"Summon Dragon!" "Teleport to Moon!" or "Give me a Sword!"

So, if anyone has a lucid dream tonight and tries this, please post your results! I theorize this works because it's in a way, easier than needing to expect something to work, because you have already experienced a similar concept which works. and since most kids these days have already learned how to "control" their enviroment through video games, I expect this or something similar would need little practice to achieve!

I've tried this before. You still have to use a bit of will power to get what you want. It helps to use your imagination in conjunction with the commands.

Last night, I wanted two DCs to talk to each other so I could complete a lucid dare. So, I pointed at the two of them and said, "Talk to each other!" One of the DCs responded with, "I have to go to the bathroom!" This made me frustrated and put doubt in my mind so I failed in getting the two to talk. I should have just stayed calm and just imagined the two talking until they did.

Thanks for the response! You have a point, though. I know I will need to expect it without a doubt, so thanks for the advice!

That sounds like a good way to take advantage of dream schemata (the units of knowledge you've accumulated over your life) that your dreams operate from. You're essentially taking something you know (like Minecraft) and metaphorically mapping it onto your dream environment, so to speak. I seem to remember reading a post somewhere that talked about this.

For instance, if I wanted to quickly move around the earth or space, I might attempt to pretend I'm using Google Earth or Celestia, since those are programs I'm familiar with using. Unfortunately, I haven't had a lot of success just yet!

Exactly! Or say you want to get some food in a dream, pretend you're ordering it online! Dream Schema's are a great way to take advantage of these things!

I sometimes have access to a keyboard and mouse in my dreams. For example, I might be shooting at some enemies and get hit, then without looking I just feel my keyboard and press a button to heal.

I've tried this technique a few times this morning with very good results. I just asked my dream, out loud or thinking it, 'dream, I want to fly higher!' or 'dream, I want angel wings!' and it worked amazingly <3

I've used a similar technique before. It's called "reframing". This is when you use a mental framework that takes you away from believing the rules of the waking world still apply. Some examples include seeing the dream as a movie, video game, or virtual reality simulator.

Overtime as you get better with reframing it's possible to drop the mental framework altogether and simply wish for whatever your want.
