      So close...please help

I have been practicing the WILD method every night and every time I come so close! But I can't seem to "break through". I have a tablespoon of honey before bed, I have a dream journal, and I've been reading material about lucid dreaming non-stop. I do reality checks and affirmations daily. I always have very vivid dreams. Recently, I've been recognizing that I am dreaming I become lucid. But cannot control what I do. I know I am dreaming but I cant seem to control it. Which gets scary. Last night I came so close. I used the WILD method. I became lucid and was able to control my dream for like 30 seconds then I lost it. Any tips or help? Thank you.

The "dream world" is run by expectation. Expect to be able to control what you do and you will.

      Goals:
-Become Lucid in every dream every night
      -Perfect the time dilation watch
-Continue to have a dream plan for most of my lucid dreams

Your problem is WILD methods work best in conjunction with the 'wake back to bed method' and should be done in the morning or early afternoon while the mind is still fresh. One needs, in order for WILDs to be effective, to do them when the brain is inclined to enter REM (dream sleep), when going to bed at night the chance of going into REM is low and the chance of entering non-dream sleep and thus formless unconsciousness is very high. Besides the timing it seems like you are doing everything else right.

The not being able to control the dream thing is interesting. Do you mean your personal actions or just the things going on in the environment? I have on rare occasions, maybe 2 or three times out of a few hundred, been caught in some invisible current and been unable to move where I wanted. And they all happened early in my Lucid dream career.

There have also been times when I came on what seemed to be a force field, not allowing me to move beyond a certain point. It happened I think because I feared it might happen, the idea came up and became real even tho I didn't want it to. When that happened I was able to just repeat "this is my dream and I can do what I want", rubbed my hands together, collected myself, and then I was able to move freely again. It is easy to 'psych' oneself out in lucid dreams, one just needs to remember to not let ones fears or negative assumptions get the best of you.

This is similar to what I am experiencing. I am so close to controlling the dream. I can even control for a few seconds but then lose it. The "force field" blocks me. Thanks for the advice. I'll try the WILD method during the day and see if it works better.

Keep trying. Always calm down and keep repeating "this is just a dream, my dream and I can do whatever I want here". You need to convince your brain that you are in charge here!
