last night. i had a pretty vivid dream. unfortunately its been 12 hours ago so i dont know as much as i did when i woke up. anyway, i had a dream last night where i was sitting at a table with a friend saying "we should be able to get him lucid now" or something along those lines. and infront of me was a paper that i was writing on. when i looked at it said "YOU ARE LUCID" then i rolled it up into a cone and gave it to someone or put it somewhere. but im pretty sure the message was clear but im still not sure why the hell my subconscious couldn't pick up "YOU ARE LUCID if it was spelled out right in front of me. im pretty sure i was a TAD lucid during that but not to where i could control it.

Do you need fireworks and and a marching band plus the note to help get the point across. Kidding. I don't even think all that would trigger lucidity in me at all. Sometimes our dream selves are idiots. I have had countless dreams and signs that should have clued me in that I was dreaming... and the dream me just never got the hint. It's frustrating but funny the things our minds will overlook or accept. It's nice to know I'm not the only one who gets clear messages and fails to heed them.

Maybe its because your sig has FREDDY CRUEGER IN IT MAN&#33; that pic should be banned from a forum that has to do with lucid dreaming&#33; lol j/k But seriously I think it has to do with the fact that sometimes your mind doesnt want you to realize your dreaming. I mean since i havent had a lucid yet, i think if i had that kinda dream i would still discard the idea that i was in a dream since its just such a crazy notion (Trying to stop myself from doin that >_<)

i have the oppisite problem. its not that my dreams fool me, its more like i choose to go along with them. if i would just stop myself for a minute, i would be lucid EVERY time. imagine that the thought of you are dreaming, was ALWAYS in the very back of your mind. imagine that the only thing you would have to do is stop, and say im dreaming then take control. that is how you would describe my dreams, the ONLY THING that i need is to STOP following along for just a second. after that i would just say im dreaming, and take control and do whatever i want to. that is the FINAL step i need, after that i will have complete control.

Sometimes I'm lucid and just go along with the dream anyway because its a sweet dream. But I always end up adding some sweet twist, like giving people guns and telling them we have some important mission that has something to do with what i've dreamt up until that point

I know what you mean about it being right in your face. I've had at least a few dreams in which I'm talking about LDing, being summoned for my ability to LD or lying about doing reality checks in order to teach some one that idea of "how can you ever know whether or not you're dreaming if you never consciously question reality?" that didn't result in lucidity. Sometimes the signs are more like billboards knocking at your door. It all comes down to the idea that if you're living and experiencing then it must be reality. How could it not be real? It can be tough to train your mind that all is not as we think and assume it to be. Practice makes it easier for your ration mind to accept that we may currently be in the dream realm. By the way, are you dreaming now? There's only one way to find out... Question the moment.

So far I can do it myself...I still want to meet my DG and ask him/her if theres any easier way for my to LD.

Gah I have the same problem. My chosen DS is the word "LOL" superimposed on my field of vision. Last week I was playing a lottery and the words L O L came up. Of course, I didn't realize it until later.
