I had THE weirdest sleep last night. I can't remember most of it and I was way too confused to write it in my DJ but I also had to quickly get ready for school. So basically what happened was I awoke after every dream (thinking it may have been the subliminal messages I put on my computer) and I just now remembered having a lucid. (This has actually happened to me a few times lately, where I have a lucid and only remember it later on in the day when something, for some reason or another, sparks the memory).
Anyway the lucid was good and I did a nose RC to realise I was dreaming. However the dream started to fade and I tried rubbing my hands but it did not work! Everything just kept fading. Any ideas what to do? Would be really helpful.
Thanx!

Spinning usually works for me. Also try just falling backwards. Sometimes things just don't work and you wake up, though.

In one of the other forums someone said that blinking kills the lucid dreams, did you blink?

This obviously varies from person to person because I close my eyes to change scenery and I stay lucid.

Yeah I think blinking only affects certain people , rubbing your hands together also stabilizes your dream enviroment.

Nah I didn't blink, at least not that I remember. I'll try the spinning next time. Forgot about that one. If that doesn't work I'll do the falling backwards. Thanx!

I think an easier way to retain control could be to look at your feet, move them around, then bring that awareness to the rest of your body. Sometimes I lose lucidity because I ignore my body, or only focus on my hands, and then it becomes kind of 3rd person. Spinning or falling might just wake you up, but it works for some people.

in another thread, someone spelled out a method for regaining a lucid dream after waking. DEILDs, I think. Although I have not tried the method on purpose, in the past I had experiences similar. So, I know it could work. It might help you.

Basically, when waking from a lucid, when it fades, stay calm. Don't get angry. Don't move your body, and breathe slowly. Expect to reenter lucidity and allow your body to relax back into sleep. The person who posted DEILDs formulated it much better than I did. But, it will get you back into a dream.

Then, stop trying to control the dream so much. Go back to just poking around the dream landscape. If it fades, no big deal, just follow the fade. Try spinning in the darkness, or fallling or blinking. Try all kinds of different techniques until you find your perfect method. It may take some attempts. But, also try to keep your calm.
This lucid dream has encountered a fatal error! Reboot? [Y/N]

Bit of an old post but I was having this problem alot. The dream would just slowly fade and fade untill it was gone.

Last night I had a solid breakthrough. I was lucky enough to have two LDs back to back.

In both of them I remember the dream trying to fade at least 1-2 times, and each time I immediately looked at the ground (Either carpet or rubble) and concentrate on the detail. Just simply kept concentrating on it while not getting to excited and bam. Back to more time of Lucidness.

I've tried hand rubbing and spinning, didn't work nearly as well as this did for me.
