My new technique for changing the scenery!.. it's fun aswell!=D

Hey.. last night i was in a lucid dream, i thought to myself. Im sick of this same dang scenery in evry dream! i no.. LETS CHANGE IT ^_^... so i thought of a cool and exiting way to do it!, if you've ever seen that new film "Jumper" then u will no what i mean bye.. looking at a picture of where you want to go. and then teleporting yourself there bye merging urself with the picture! iv'e tryed teleporting places beforehand and it didnt work, but after seeing Jumper. i know exactly what it would look like if i were to teleport in real life. So i summoned a picture of where i wanted to go, and HAY PRESTO.. im there ^_^... thank's for reading. Let me know how things go if you try this out!

Sasuke, I haven't seen Jumper yet but it's so cool that you were able to actually merge with a picture and end up where you wanted to go! I'm very impressed and will definately have to give this a try!

Man I jumped tried into "Campbell Soup Cans" by Andy Warhol but something went horribly wrong, and it turned into a pseudo-forest temple from Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (best game evar!) only it was wayy more creepy than the actual level.

If I weren't so much of a pansy, I'd totally try it again.

Hi Susuke and all, One good way I find of changing dream scenery is by thinking up a TV screen and then, when the picture on it looks like where you want to go, dive into it as though you were diving into deep water.

Another method you could try is spinning on the spot. I always find this more difficult as I just can't stay upright when spinning!

      The Movie?!

Just an aside on the movie Jumper, you should all read the book by Stephen Gould! LOL. I refuse to see the movie because I know it'll just ruin the book for me. I'm just a literature snob, I guess.

      Good job on teleporting though!

I've had a few WILDs where I land in an almost totally white space, infinite in all directions. Then I start walking around, adding little bits of scenery. The "white space" only happens naturally when I WILD. Probably because when I get lucid through RCs, I'm already well into the dream. Anyways, a while back I thought up a technique to change the scenery, where basically I imagine a black line going down the center of the scene, then I imagine it peeling away like two pieces of paper and behind it is nothing but white. Then I can create a new scene. I haven't tried it much in lucids yet, but it's worked for clearing away visualizations.

Cool method... It's really funny that you should mention this method tho, as one time in an LD this worked in reverse for me.

I was really trying to visualize being on a beautiful Caribbean beach. I was able to be there for like a minute enjoying the warm weather , and then my consciousness just was pulled back through the picture and I was standing in a cold NYC (in my bathing suit!) while snow came down looking at a postcard with this beach scene on it! Talk about your subconscious doing you in!!!
Thanks to all for sharing your knowledge, experience and even your inquiries regarding LDs!!!

WOW It's so awesome to find out that someone else is using similar techniques as yours! Well I haven't actually watched the movie but I did actually read the book which I think is better because I was able to imagine it myself instead of seeing what the director thought of it . But yeah, its def. one of my favorite techniques EVER

I guess you're not quite as skilled as Mario

Sounds like a good technique, I can see it working well. Maybe this will help me triumph against my small universes... which, oddly, seem to be contained in a glass cube or skybox, with nothingness beyond them. >.>

Oh and one thing: watch out for Mr. S.L. Jackson >_>

For those having problems, try jumping backwards. It works for me, for whatever reason (too bad I haven't been able to utlize this in a not-crappy lucid!).

I want to jump into a reflective surface really badly. Preferably one that faces the sky. Most likely I'll use a puddle.

Jumping into paintings? Sounds like Super Mario 64 to me. I'll have to try this if I ever induce an LD
