Thread: Elemental Control

I did something like that in a non-lucid dream and it was a lot of fun.

In my opinion the trick to dream control is just to be confident in yourself and what you do, but that doesn't always work for everyone.

Anyway, it sounds really fun, go for it!

Hm, for frost... you can try 2 things:

1.- Infuse water with your energy and make it cold.
2.- Put energy into the desired object and then take the heat it haves.

Both worked for me, dunno for others <.<

Ahh messing around with elements in lucid dreams, good stuff.

The general trick to dream control from my experience is to know that there is no reason why you can't do something. Basically, I've never failed to fly, summon stuff, and so on, and in almost all cases succeeded first time.



For frost, I think what I would do is either freeze my hands (ala Sylar from Heroes) and use that to freeze an object, or to focus on an item and mentally freeze it.

I always saw the elements as only four: Fire, Water, Earth, and Air. All the others, such as metal and lightning, are just branches of one of the four main elements. I was always a HUGE fan of wind. And have always wanted the power to control it. (waaaaaaaaay before that Airbender crap) So I'll be trying element control in my dreams. (but mainly air! XD) I look at it as ice is a branch of water, lightning is a branch of air, metal is a branch of earth and so on and so on.

Ahh, thank you for that somewhat useless information. Anywho, haven't had a chance to try these ideas out. I'm overtired enough to WILD tonight without first doing a WBTB however so it should be good.

Anyway, I've generally found I can only use elements/magic if thats what the dream is about ,i.e. the dream is based on a reality in which magic is possible and everyone can do it. So if you try to orientate youself towards that kind of dream then you should be able to use elements yourself much easier. As I myself cannot use magic/elements in any dream which is based on real life, i.e. where everyone else is normal and no-one else can use magic but me, keep trying to get a dream like this but it seems I just can't. So If I were you, i'd concentrate on making the reality/surroundings into a scene where magic is the 'norm', unlike a dream which is similiar to real life.

Meh. I hate Naruto. But I would think you would just have to handle water or air almost like it was a ribbon in the wind... I can't really explain it. But thats just my opinion.

i had a lucid where i set some people walking around town on fire.

btw I've never watched Naruto, and I don't plan on it.

Manifest an aerosol can and a lighter = fire.
Manifest a wind machine = wind.
Manifest a minature dark cloud = lightning.
Manifest a bucket of liquid nitrogen = frost.

There ya go.

I get my inspiration from the GBA game Golden Sun (best GBA game ever!)

Also, when thinking about elemental powers, I always add 4 more to the classic earth, fire, wind, and water. The powers I add are:
Light (which I normally picture as bright beams of crystal like energy)
Rage (the name is misleading, but it's basically high pressure, rapidly expanding matter)
Darkness (behaves opposite of "Light")
Void (behaves like a black hole, opposite of "Rage")

I put a little too much thought into this
I could go into a little bit more detail if anyone would like, I pretty much have a world of info on this in my head

Hm... so full version? And rage is like gravity then? But void... is like a black hole and the opposite of rage? A black hole is extremly high gravity isn't it? Wouldn't rage and void be virtually the same?

Well... Yes. A black hole really is just gravity so great not even light can escape it.

from my experience, in lucid dreams, i sometimes "mimic" something i've seen before if i want to make it, so frost.. act like you're subzero or something

most of the time though i just tell myself to do it and i do it

The confusion is probably coming from the fact that I didn't even think of Void and Rage in an elemental mindset. These ideas came to me while I was pondering some super-destructive weaponry. The type of weapon I thought of was some sort of gun like device that shot energy that would fly a certain distance, then react to the environment. Rage would cause matter to expand forcefully out of nowhere in the form of deadly deadly spikes, Void would suck everything into itself inside it's sphere of influence, often leaving spikes of flesh, ground, etc. leading inward towards it's center point, also, there was a third type of energy, but the idea was lost in my mind after a few days.

The only reason I added Void and Rage was because I added Darkness and Light. I just wanted wanted to even out the classic elements with my own, but Void and Rage developed to the point where I almost forgot about their origin. Any other questions about the world in my head?

EDIT: I didn't mean to say that Void was a black hole, what I meant was that it behaved similarly to a black hole.

We're trying to give you our points of view on the subject to help you with your problem. We were just using some anime as references to better describe our elemental control tactics, not ramble about them.

lol, I was kidding. I still haven't been lucid enough to remember to try this. It's getting frustrating.

2 nights ago, tried to WILD. Slept for 5 hours then layed there forever. (about 1 Hour, 45 minutes it turns out) and couldn't get to sleep, regardless. Got the feeling of being "pulled in" probably 10 times, but still couldn't fall asleep. Had 1 visual that looked like it was real, then it faded. I gave up, went to sleep, and had a dream. Extremely frustrating. Woke up, fell back asleep (telling myself next time I'd realize I was dreaming) and dreamed again. Didn't realize I was dreaming. Then I had to get up to go into town. Oh well.

Reach into fire and a grab a handful. I've done this before and honestly i can't recall exactly what i was thinking at the time. Nevertheless the fire stayed in my hand and the flames reacted similar to real life, always rising.

Man this sounds really awesome, Because I remember one dream when I was by a lake In a non lucid dream, I just lifted my arms and I was focusing on the [BACKGROUND="#00000"]water[/BACKGROUND] on the lake when I lifted my arms up the water just came out to the sky, It was really awesome too then it just came back down and I woke up. That was the first dream I had about Controlling a Element.
