Having problems with the lenght of my LDs.

My first LDs lasted 3~5 seconds. Then i manage to get longer LDs (i got one that lasted 20~30 minutes) and now, every LD, last 5 seconds. I do a reality check, think: "OK, what i'm gonna to do now?" Then the dream starts to fade out. I scream "clarity now", and other things, they work, but a sec later it fades out again and i wake up.

I can't manage to get another long ld again, what i can do?

My friend sets an alarm to 1:00AM and sleeps instantly and got very long LDs. (not a WILD or DEILD) i will try that...

It could just be coincidence. Maybe you are becoming lucid right as you are waking up. Don't worry about it too much.

Try touching things around you, and looking intently at your surroundings. Really engage with the dream world so it doesn't have a chance to slip away. If nothing works, and you do wake up prematurely, just relax, keep your eyes closed, and try to slip back into the dream.

How do you know how long your LD is? Some of them feel like ages, but I'd guess they're really only about ten minutes long... but how would you know for sure?

Have clear goals you want to accomplish in your lucids, and start doing them as soon as you are lucid.

Or just throw yourself into the dream by flying, running, jumping, grabbing the nearest girl and making out with her. As long as you do something and don't just stand there going "wow, I'm dreaming" you'll be fine.

Then your only problem is getting distracted by something and losing lucidity.
