      Interesting dream control technique

I play a lot of video games, and team fortress 2 has been my primary one for quite a while now. I found myself in a dream inside the game, usually I don't realize that I'm dreaming, but occasionally I do without dream checking. Now in this game there is a cheat code where you have to type buddha in, and it will prevent you from dying, regardless of how much damage you take. And so I said this aloud, and it worked the same as it did in the game, I could no longer be killed. At the time I was partially lucid, but this brought me into as full a lucidity as I've attained.

This wouldn't work for anyone but a gamer, but it seems like a interesting way of controlling your dream if you know any good cheat codes. A good one is called noclip, it's somewhat hard to explain but basically it removes everything that detects if you've run into anything, so you phase through walls and doors, but it also removes any forces acting on you like gravity and friction with the air, so you can zoom around freely as if you were flying, and nothing stops you. Didn't think of this one at the time, but I imagine it would have worked just the same.

That sounds like an interesting idea; although for me it'd be difficult to do.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

When in a game like dream, I sometimes remember to say "Pause!" And everything pauses when this big menu screen pops up with jumbled up words. Annoying thing is then, getting rid of that menu screen because it's taking up my view and I get too distracted trying to read it, thinking actual words will form and I can press a button.

Sounds like a cool idea. I'll have to try this. First I gotta get lucid though, that'll be the hard part lol

You could do impulse 101 and get tons of weapons and armour.

That's actually a pretty cool idea I might give it a try one day, and see how it works out xD

When I used to have LDs as a kid, what I would do is make objects that could do everything, which I suppose works on a similar concept. Rather than straight will bending, you're using pre-set objects (or cheats) which will change the world without breaking the flow. Such a great way to do it.

Just make sure you don't get banned in game

Heh, that's pretty funny to use a cheat code to get full lucidity in a dream.

I'm not on DV much these days, but I'll try to toss a cool dream or two into my DJ.

So, you used an already well defined archetype as a way to manipulate your dream.

Personally, I don't see how this is a new or interesting idea.

I would like to think this is pretty standard stuff, but it apparently isn't if so many people are surprised by it. =/
