      symbol interpretation

      Does anyone know the meaning of the symbol that is my avatar. It was very important in my dream last night, and I can't find any information about it on the web.

      It looks like a mathetical symbol...like something I've seen in a movie before about some ancient society.

      it looks to me like when if you fold that symbol upright it creates a octagonal pyramid the two dots on either side of it may represent doors and each door for instance the left dot (door) on the bottom and the right (door) on the top which creates a vertical passage way, which could mean the passage way between two worlds, e.g. this world and the dream world or this world and the afterlife...
