      a state of intense fear

Hello. My name is Kristin & I am new on this forum. About 30 min ago I awoke from this dream, knowing that I was in to much terror to fall back asleep, & that I finally had to put everything into words. I know this is long, but I am still in complete terror, & I am tryign to hold back these tears. It may sound as if I am being over dramatic, but I just cant shake this. So please Please, I beg you, just read it & tell me what you think.

Nothing changes. Time of day, origin, feelings. All thru my own eyes.

After having trouble sleeping for about 15 min, I suddenly fall unconscious. This is where it begins…
I am alone, although I have terrible fear of something that seems to be in my house. My body & movements are restricted, I franticly try to find out why, I grab anything I can reach, but my body will not go far. Within in a few seconds my body calms down for a brief period of time, for me to realize that everything is tingling &numb. With this new knowledge I begin to go back into a state of intense fear, & realize that my vision is very blurred, & I can not keep my right eye open. My fists try to hit the floor, & walls that are close. I have no strength. I scream, but these air full shrieks spit out. I have lost my voice. I have to get out. Somehow I drag myself down my hallway & into my room, where I seem to be standing. I have more use of my body, but there is still something that has its force on me. The room is dark, with a yellow glow. I am not sure of what is very different in the room, only that there is a mirror above the head of my bed, & on the opposite wall across the room from this mirror is another. Both are orb shaped. Also what is actually in my room, is my mirror that is apart of my dresser. My vision is still blurred, & I try to pry my right eye open with my hand, but it manages to still shut. I run franticly around my room, peering at every mirror, still trying to scream. Gradually I realize my voice is getting louder, & my strength has started to surge. I proceed to band on my walls, knowing my dad is sleeping in the next room. Suddenly I hear his girlfriends voice, as if she is right outside the door. I suddenly start to think it is morning, & that for some reason (thinking this about the real world, no what’s going on in my dream) she happened to come to our home before work with my father, & that because her voice could have been coming from the hallway, it some how got incorporated into my dream.

Suddenly I awake. My heart is beating very fast. I have this strange feeling as if while this dream had occurred…my soul had left my body. Almost like a out of body experience. I feel revived, & energetic…yet still very tired, fearing that if I fall asleep to quick I will end up back in this horrible world. I realize that the reason for my right eye not being able to open in the dream is because I was lying on that side.

Everything else I can not explain. When I was younger I would have this exact dream almost many times, but only when I would be taking a nap. I remember now though, that in those dreams I kept seeing shadows, & that I still do. Also that where I fall asleep, is exactly how I awake inside this dream. As if nothing has changed, except the atmosphere.

I stopped having these dreams probably about 4th grade. The next time I had one was the night after I took ecstasy. & I have had one other before the one I just experienced.

These are unlike any dream I have ever had before. I know im dreaming in the dream, but this fear that comes over me is so powerful, that all I can do is panic, & try my best to get someone to help. It is so real in some way. &it scared me to see myself in a mirror in a dream. It was…very scary. When I awake, I also get very confused, &on edge…wondering if I am still dreaming. I can’t have these anymore. It’s to much.

(also the dream always lasts about 40 min. but when i awake, I can remember exactly how i fell asleep, in what position, as if I hadnt really fell asleep at all.)

      State of Fear

I have had fearful dreams and when I woke up I was glad that it was only a dream.

The forum has gone through many changes since 2004, and this thread should have been locked last year. The OP clearly didn't stick around the forum to find out.

      Please don't necro-post.
