I had the following dream about a month ago and I still have no clue as to what any of it means. Any help would be very appreciated.
It starts out in the open-air kitchen of a building that looks like a Spanish-style mission. I was invited by two latino friends, a boy and girl -- possibly brother and sister (I don't know these people IRL) over for dinner with their family. They are preparing a beautiful feast with colorful meats, veggies, and fruits. I hang around the kitchen and chit-chat for a while, but eventually wander outside.
I took a seat on the ground in the shade under a large tree. I'm sitting cross-legged with my back resting against the trunk. While I'm sitting there enjoying the gentle breeze, I see an older woman (maybe 60-ish) walking out on the top balcony of the mission. She is heavy-set (not skinny, but not obese) and is wearing a beautiful black dress, old fashioned in style (kind of like what Lady Mary on Downton Abbey might wear). She has a necklace of beautiful large black jewels, and black hair with a black feather in it.
Only moments after I finish admiring her beauty she launches herself off the balcony, arms outstretched. Her body hits flat on the ground, and immediately upon impact her body turns into a flock of crows that flies off in all directions.
Upon seeing this I start crying profusely and feel like I have just witnessed a major tragedy. While I am crying, a middle-aged man from the family approaches me and asks me if I have seen his aunt. All I can do is continue crying and point at where I was just looking.
Shortly after that I woke up. I only cry very rarely in my dreams, and when I do I usually wake myself up because I am actually sobbing IRL.
The odd thing is that I don't ever cry in my waking life. Sometimes I feel like I want to, but I just end up getting a full-body tingle and the urge goes away. When I really do feel like I need to cry, I'll watch Grave of The Fireflies, and it works everytime.
After I woke up I was perplexed by the imagery and searched Google for mentions of a woman turning into crows. The best result I could find was The Morrigan, a deity? in Irish folklore. However I had never heard of her or of any Irish folklore (apart from leprochauns of course!). So this whole dream is very odd for multiple reasons.
