Are guns a dream sign?

Anyone else have problems with guns firing in their dreams? I know I do, but last night I didn't.

I was kind of surprised by it because when I woke up I remembered how it happened.
I have a double action .380 and unless I pull the slide back I can't fire the thing apparently.

I can't have one in the chamber and expect it to fire when I pull the trigger. I have to manually pull the hammer back or pull the slide back.

One in the chamber, draw and pull the trigger = either safety is on or internal trigger lock is locked. No bang bang.

Full magazine, pull slide back, release aim pull trigger = bang bang.

I forgot to pull the slide back after putting that single bullet in and woke up.

Neat huh?

For me, sometimes bullets don't fire at all, or I'll have infinite rounds. As for the safety, I don't recall ever using it in any dream, and I never keep keep chambered rounds in waking life. The thing is, I'm always in combat situations, so I don't have anytime to really question whats going on.

When I wear my gun I keep a round chambered with the safety on, and my safety is located in a position where I can disable it with my thumb as I'm drawing.

I had a dream where my backyard was being rushed by people who were up to no good and heading into the backyard of my neighbors house. I had my gun out just in case and decided it wasn't something I needed to get involved in because they weren't coming for me. Just then I felt myself get shot in the back of my head, turned and saw someone crouching in the adjacent yard behind a chainlink fence. I aimed and fired but nothing, I disabled the safety and fired away while I was fading out (dying maybe). But then I woke up. That was a few months ago.

Last night it was the opposite, I had to take preventative action because the threat was inbound, so I scared the threat away by unloading on their vehicle, but failed to eliminate the second target.

It sucked but I'm sure it's all just progress. Next time I get a gun in my hand it's reality check time.
