I'm Not Remembering Anything. Where Do I Start?

Hey Dreamviews! First time poster here. I've been reading pretty much everything on dreamviews for a month or two now, and haven't been able to find a forum to answer my problem. The past few months i've hardly remembered a single dream. Any time i do, i'm sure to write it down in my journal, but so far i've only got 5 entries. As of right now i haven't remembered a dream in weeks and i'm not sure where to start. Most forums say to start by writing anything you can, but i have no memory of any dreams. How can i start on fixing this?

Just keep going. Read about dreams, try to remember anything. I was like this when I started, and then you get one, and then another, and then another, and then two, and then another two and....you get the point. Its like a giant string of dream recall. Just sleep as normal and when you remember a dream, write it down.

I'm sorta a begginer myself but a bit of advice you'll get this alot. Don't move when you wake up. If you get up and do things like get dressed you mind throws the dream memory into your memory "safe". So just stay still (Hopefuly in a dark room.) and just remember the adventure you just had.

I always try to force myself to write down anything i can, but i'm sure there have been times when i've woken up and decided i was more interested in getting back to sleep lol. I wish i had worked on this more when remembering dreams wasn't a problem.

And Tripoli, i'm one step ahead of you. Just today i hung blankets over my windows to ensure that my room was pitch black when i woke up. Anything helps right?

You could try closing your eyes, and thinking about the dream. Sometimes, if you try to remember, the pictures come to your mind. Once you get into the habbit of writing down your dreams, and all that you remember, you'll remember your dreams every night.
If you start out with fragments, it's okay. What I do is right when I get up I don't move and I think about the dream. Now, it automatically comes to my mind. (sometimes I have to think hard.) I have heard looking at the first object you see when you open your eyes works, and this is how I started. It worked for me, but may not work for you. When you do this, do not think about anything but the dream. Once you do remember your dreams, write it down immediatly. If fragments, just write that. Even if a single word comes to your mind, you should just write that down, and if you give up after that word, you could see later if it comes to mind. (Sometimes at last resort, it works for me if I only remember one thing.)
You could also read about how other people remember their dreams by searching online.

Right when you get up...don't move. Before you go to bed, tell yourself that your going to wake up after every dream cycle and record all your dreams with EPIC dream recall...and do it as well. Release any stress you have in your life. Thas about it.
All of experience is fun for me, whether in a dream, or in reality, because I love existing, learning, and continuously evolving and sustaining. Then again, who knows, I may not enjoy existing so much if I caught a face full of buckshot from an angry farmer. But hey, at least I'd got out with a bang.

I feel like laying in bed in the dark thinking about my dream would work great, but upon waking up thats never my first thought. I'm not really sure how to go about training my body to stay still and not open my eyes right after waking from a dream. I always seem to hear some noise or something will catch my attention. But then again, i've just recently started trying to remain still after i wake up. I feel like if i make this a habit, things should start coming more naturally.

Guys good news!! Last night i attempted WBTB and had a TINY bit of improvement. After waking up after sleeping for 6 hours, i didn't remember a thing. But i carried on anyway, and got out of bed and read LDing material on DV for a solid 30 minutes. Then i got into bed and listened to a LD mp3 for about 10 minutes until i decided it was time to go back to sleep. I layed there repeating "I will remain calm and still when i awake", "I will not open my eyes when i awake", and other similar things. I awoke the next morning without opening my eyes! It was like i was staring into the blackness of my eyelids, and i just realized i was most likely awake. 2 RC's confirmed. All i remember was bits and pieces from various dreams, like setting drinks on a table, and a sentence one of my friends said to me, but atleast i had something to write down!! Thanks for all your help guys!
