Recall being lost to hazy half awake state?

I started trying lucid dreaming about 6 days ago and I've been keeping a journal and at first I could remember my dreams pretty well with some effort. But recently they just slip away from me whenever I wake up. I've noticed that when I wake up I don't go from dreaming to being awake and thinking immediately about my dreams like I did the first couple of nights. I live in this really strange midstage for ages where im half dreaming and half awake so when I wake up my dream has gone.

Like this morning I woke up and I was thinking completely random things which I cant remember, and at one point I thought I'd looked at the time on my phone which said about 5, but I don't remember the images of looking at it, I just remember thinking I'd looked at my phone, then I heard noises from downstairs and properly woke up and tried to remember my dreams and realised thinking about all that random wank had made me forget my dreams, also it was half 7, which meant I had to get out of bed and get ready for a uni lecture. The noises were just my housemates going to make some food. skdlhfshf

What do I do? It's really annoying me. I'm not using an alarm, maybe I should use an alarm to bring me to waking state?

      Cheers in advance! x
