      Dream Journal really works.

I actually just started using a dream journal to attain lucidity, partially from doubt and partially from laziness I never got around to making a DJ.
I made one a week ago and even since I have been recording my dreams I have been getting dreams that I remember every night, sometimes even two or three!

I was wondering, I have been on and off practicing LDing for a year. I have been successful twice but it lasted less than 10 seconds. What should my next step be after a good recall?

It's amazing how much of a difference that can make, isn't it?

As for next steps, you could begin trying a technique such as MILD. Sometimes just the act of trying a new technique can get you some DILDs, even if the attempt itself is unsuccessful. Also, if you're not doing so already, do reality checks throughout the day to train your mind to question reality.

I agree with Lola. Try out some induction techniques, preferably one that doesn't interrupt too much of your current lifestyle or one that won't make a drastic change (which can affect you negatively). good luck

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

Don't do it on and off. Read tutorials. Continue with DJ. Try a few techniques. Sign up for a class here.

Try to make it as consistent as possible. That's the best way.
