      Worst Memory EVER...

Don't let the name fool ya'. I haven't been able to recall a SINGLE dream in about 5 months now. I am a begginer at lucid dreaming, and have never successfully had one yet, sadly. But i'd REALLy like to. The problem is, everyone says there's no point in them without good dream-recall; which I lack obviously. Can anyone give me some tips to focus my mind better on remembering my dreams? It would be greatly appreciated.

Yea, while you are awake, observe your surroundings a lot more than you do now. Look at everything, and observe all details... Just be aware of your surrounding more lol.

Write what little bits of dreams that you can remember in a dream journal, each time you wake up. This is best to be done right when you wake up, so you remember the most of your dreams.

Before sleep each night, say, "I will remember my dream when I wake up" or something like that, in your head.

Take vitamin b6 pills, about 50mg... If you want. These are said to help dream recall but I've never tried them.

You can start by creating a consistent sleep schedule. Go to bed, and wake up, at the same time every night/morning, if possible. This will improve your body's natural ability for recall and concentration, and you can use this synchronization to wake yourself up at the end of a REM period (if you want--this ensures recall, but may need an alarm clock).

Hm... It's true my sleep schedule has been WAY off until recently. I just got back into a regular sleeping rythmn, so maybe that'll help. I have heard some things about using an alarm clock and such. I'll try out some of these, and see if I make any progress. That's for the help! Oh, and the welcome.

      A the D,

Here's another tip to add to the good advice you've already gotten:

When you first wake up in the morning don't change your body position AT ALL. Don't turn over onto your other side or stretch your legs or anything. Just lie there and concentrate on dream recall. Strangely, body position is directly related to dream recollection, at least in those first moments of waking when we are summoning our dream adventures from the depths of sleep.

Actually, that makes a lot of sense! Maybe I'll try that!

One of my biggest challenges with recalling dreams was remembering them long enough to get it all written down in my dream journal. Oftentimes before I could even get a few sentences down the dream had mostly faded, so what I did was buy a microcasette recorder. As soon as I wake up I just lay still, press the record button and talk my entire dream into it then go back to sleep, for hopefully another REM period. Later in the day once I wake up I just listen to the recordings and type it all into my dream journal. It works very nicely.
If you’re gonna microwave that burrito, I want you to poke holes in the plastic wrapping because they explode. And I'm tired of cleaning up your little burrito doings. You dig me?

Recently I found out, that everything works better when we are beginners. Becouse we dont expect anything from what comes. But later on, we expect that recalling will feel like it felt day before. And it simply doesnt work like day before.

As for me I have the same problems. I feel motivated to remember my dreams, but still, its like hit and miss. As if brain decided. Today, you will remember nothing.

Yeah, this fascinates me. On the night when I go to bed I often lie down and immediately a bunch of dreams that I hadn't even recalled yet come back to me. Just because of a particular position I'm in. Interesting stuff.
