Well, unfortunately, a dream journal is the foundation for dream recall, lucid dreaming and so. How about if you get a voice recorder and record all your stuff? Its a lot faster. |

Hello, I have a very hectic summer schedule which requires me to get up at 5 and I am usually a little sleep deprived so in the morning the lasts thing I think about is recalling dreams and plus, I am in a rush usually. can i remedy this in any way? |

Well, unfortunately, a dream journal is the foundation for dream recall, lucid dreaming and so. How about if you get a voice recorder and record all your stuff? Its a lot faster. |

Tell me about using a voice recorder as a DJ please |
|
What is there to tell you about using a voice recorder? When you wake up, you just speak into the recorder about what you dreamt about... or what you can remember, at least. It is a lot faster than writing it down. |
|
OMG A T-REX
Basically you buy a voice recorder. Your cell phone might be capable of... most are. |
|
I would like to add that if you don't like the sound of your own voice, audible recordings may not be the best for you. |
|
I know what you mean. My dream recall has gotten pretty good (it always has been) and I have to get up rather early and go to work. Therefore I don't have time to journal in the morning. Does it make a difference if I journal in the evening before bed? I can usually remember most of my dreams by then, if not all of the details. |
|
Personally, my view is that if you can remember it still, then go for it. But lets see if someone with more knowledge then I says otherwise. |
|
But then do you HAVE to transcribe the recordings or save them on the desktop? also, how do you go through all of them later on? |
|
If I don't have to time to record in a DJ then I'll use the audio recorder on my phone and blab some of the details of the dream into it for as much time as I have to do so. Then later in the day, use the recording to stir my memory as to the rest of the details of the dream-so I transcribe later. But if you had more time you could probably just say the whole thing into the phone. You can buy a memory card for your phone to store them all on so it's easier to get them on the computer later if you want. |
|
Tell me what'cha know about dreamin', dreamin'...
Writing with a pen tends to kill my recall.. Typing isn't as bad, but I use a video camera in the morning. I just set it close, point it at myself and start talking. It's nice cos I can gesture to explain what happened. Later I upload them to my computer in my "Dream Logs" folder and name the video file the date and time, along with "lucid" or "dream control" or whatever else happened. Reviewing them is easy, too- I just watch the video. |

"Have you ever had a dream that you were so sure was real? What if you were unable to wake from that dream? How would you know the difference between the dream world and the real world?" -Morpheus
Recorded dreams: 28
DILD: 10+
I like to wake up, and while I'm in the shower I actively think about my dream and it usually takes about 5 minutes to gather all the details in my head, then I write it down afterward. If you don't have time to write it in the morning, you could record it to your cell phone while driving / commuting to work so it is fresh, and so you don't take time writing it and be late to work. Use your phone on speakerphone if you are driving so you don't crash into a tree. |

Or just go to sleep earlier? >_> |

I also use voice recording for my dream journal. I have my laptop next to my bed and in the morning or when I wake up at night, I use the laptop's built-in microphone to record my dream. I name the audio file using the date and a title for the dream (the "title" is often just some keywords) and put it in my dream journal folder where I keep all my DJ audio files. The folder is inside an encrypted container file. |
