Its always hard to make friends if you are introverted, I know that for a fact! But just remember that eventually you'll find some people who are really true, proper friends. Then those are the ones you'll cherish They just take a bit of finding in the first place!

Hello fellow introvert. Boy can I relate. Given I haven't figured out the "solution" I can't really help you.

I can count my good friends with one hand and, to be honest, that is good enough for me. Those 'flakers' you talk about have long since forced me into a mindset of disregarding the mainstream and embracing the 'underdog' side. After all, if everyone who listens to Lincoln Park and rap, watches the most popular shows, etc, treats me like shit, I don't want to have any similarities with them. Nowadays its less extreme as my middle school and early high school years. Still, if someone won't give me their ear, won't allow me the time of day to be in their presence, I laugh it off, picturing them in ten years.

If they don't give you a chance then most likely they aren't worth your effort. They certainly don't seem to be going any extra lengths for you. It doesn't mean you shouldn't try, but why would one want anything to do with a shallow person? The quantity of friends means nothing. The quality is everything. One quality friend beats one-hundred "party-goers" any day. Embrace who you are and continue searching for those with the same interests. Introverted people are not shy, they just gather energy from being withdrawn. Do not "let go" of it, but rather study it and find out how to use it to your advantage.

And a big for Tyrantt. I know how you feel. I don't really have many any really good friendships here (with the exception of two people whom I love, but don't see very often). I just checked out the demography of my city (based on the 2000 census) and 7% are between the ages of 20-24. Even though that's around a thousand people, I don't seem to be able to find them. I wonder if any of them sit around at DV like me... I wouldn't be surprised.

but not only that.... I just looked at your icon for having accomplished lucid task of the month and I had a dream flashback. I think I got lucid but I couldn't remember the dream. I remember trying to do the task of the month of making an inanimate object live...
