I have about 3 episodes left before I've finished them all. After that it's going to be a long wait until season 2 comes out. Anyway, I'd have to say, the songs are surprisingly well done. I'm not much of a fan of singing but winter wrap up was awesome.

Sure. I basically hate musicals, but winter wrap up was actually somewhat enjoyable

I think the second to last episode is one of the best. You'll love it.

I can't wait for season 2. True Blood isn't pony enough.

Well there could be. The other MLP fan threads on other forums have thousands of posts. From sharing fan fics and art to discussing on how to discussing how to vector images of ponies in photoshop CS4 to random pic posting to any other pony related discussion.

I don't get the appeal. Can someone explain it to me?

It's a good show but the main reason behind the internet craze is the fan base it self. The fanart, the music, comics, image macros, the memes, the fact that the show's creators pay so much attention to the fans, etc just make the show even better.

I also think it's quite clever in some ways, like using play on words such as "anypony" and recognising that not all girls should be 'girlie girl'. I found myself comparing the ponies to people I know in real life, as they do all have different personalities that are recognisable. The show puts more thought into it than just playing on stereotypes.

It's a photoshop, you can tell by looking at the text in the speech bubbles.

I'd be interested in reading some fanfics. I've read some random ones, and would like to know what are generally considered the best ones. Any suggestions?

Whatever you do, don't read "Cupcakes". That's the only advice I can give you regarding fanfics.

On my main forum, which has the 6000 post MLP thread I can't attend because a lot of my IRL folk are on that forum as well and I kinda want to keep that secret, cupcakes was the topic of discussion a while back. Apparently whoever reads it won't see PP in the same light ever again. O.o

Maybe I won't read it. It'd satisfy my curiosity but I'd be thinking about that for the whole of season #2...

I read Cupcakes. It didn't ruin Pinkie Pie for me. I just thought it was a ridiculous fanfic.

Same here. I actually kind of enjoyed it, despite it being completely ridiculous.

If that fic is related to the game fallout, Does it matter if I don't know anything about the fallout universe aside from that it's a nuclear apocalypse with zombies? References and the like.

I've seen it before but the great length scared me off. x)

Well of course you will miss out on the references, and I'm not sure how that will affect the experience. There's tons of MLP references too, and what Kkat takes from Fallout she explains quite well, so at least there will be no confusions or misunderstandings, just missed references.

I guess I might just start reading and see how I like.

I should probably watch the season again soon. I watched the first 16 episodes when I first found this thread and then watched the rest as they came.

Right now, I remember it all somewhat clearly. But not really that much.
