      Star Wars Episode III

Will anyone here be watching Episode III on the day of it's release? These people will be...

      http://www.albinoblacksheep.com/flash/starwars

I plan to watch it on its release day, but i don't think there will be a queue stretching for half a mile around the block. I can't understand why anyone would want to camp out outside the cinema.

I bought my tickets for The Matrix Revolutions, 2 weeks before it was released and there were plenty of tickets available. I even managed to a get a decent seat at the first showing. Maybe people in Britain just aren't as obsessed as Americans about Star Wars and other big movies?

Do you think this movie will make up for the last two?

Its going to be Sh*t like the other two films, i hate Star Wars...i used to love it but now my passion has died along with the artist integrity of the original three movies.

well, it has to do with how the movies used to be rather entertaining and ....oh yes! they didn't suck...

if you need a bigger excuse, I can give it to you in 3 words that basically signify the approach Lucas took with these new versions: Jar Jar Binks

My friends are going to camp in front of a movie theater playing D&D for about 24 hours waiting for tickets.

I actually have a hidden camera prank planned out regarding the premiere of this movie.

Since many star wars geeks will begin the line a couple weeks before the movie premieres, I have this event planned where I will go to a theater and ask where the line for episode 3 starts, about one month before the movie premieres. You see, where I live there no one ever camps anywhere to get into a movie...not even for one night. So it will shock everyone to find me there one month earlier. But that's not all. A bunch of my friends will start showing up with their sleeping bag and backpack one about each 10-20 minutes, and we will all be pretending not to know each other. The point of the whole thing is to get the expressions on the people's faces when 10 or so people show up with camping gear waiting for the star wars premiere...

I really hope episode 3 is good, i was so disapointed by the new movies. I think the original movies left a bring impression on me (i was 13) and these just totally destroyed the magic for me. I guess if you are 15-16 you will enjoy them.

I'm going to laugh if it's a flop like Ep. 1 and 2.

Stop it! Stop calling eps 1 and 2 a flop.... they were both great peaces of a greater artwork. Its the sum of its parts that is important. *Cuddling with George Lucas*

I think the movie will succeed very well in terms of goodness. There's a lot more focus on the lightsaber action, and it's always enjoyable to see "how things got that way". It doesn't seem "GRITTY TO T3H X-TREMEXORS" or something terrible like that, but it's definately got a darker story.

And, Steven Speilberg helped out on the movie for certain parts, such as one of the fights between Anakin and Obi-Wan. So here's hoping the mix creates some good cinematic joy.

I bought my ticket about a month ago now. I'll be seeing it at the midnight screening.

I'm pretty excited. I think its worth watching whether its shit or amazing, just because its the last film.

I agree that the original 3 are way more epic and the goodness factor was higher... but to be honest I'm really enjoying the new three as well. ?

Very funny trailer, but I have a video that will crack you all up. I'll upload it when I get the chance.

Y'know, I'm tempted to get very violent with some people at the local theater. NOTE: I'm using a public computer, so in case anybody is paranoid and is monitoring my computer, I said TEMPTED. Yeah. No incriminating evidence. Hah.

Anyway, I went back in mid April to get my tickets (Around the 13th I think) and the lady said that the theater didn't even know if they'd be showing Star Wars, let alone have tickets, and I said that one of my friends had already bought tickets from this theater, so I knew they had them, and I asked to talk to their supervisor and whatnot, raised some minor (-ish) hell, and wound up walking away with no tickets, but the "absolute assurance" that the theater would be showing Star Wars and tickets would be available in two weeks. Yeah. So I go back in a week and a half, and it turns out they'd had tickets since MARCH and they sold out a little under a week before my second visit. Yeah. So I'm not happy. Anybody up for some protesting? Mebbe some lawsuits? I'll share the profits! Well, I'll consider it anyways. Either way, I'd just like you all to know that I'm stuck going to the 12:05 show instead of the 12:01 show. And certain people at the theater shall pay for their treachery. *force chokes employees*

Anyway, on a minor side note, it comes out on my birthday, the 19th! Wee! Yeah. Which just increases my resolve to obtain VENGEANCE.

I just woke up, its 12:18pm here. I was going to post last night after the movie, but i got home at 3:30am and i was tired.

      best. starwars. ever.

I dont want to spoil it for you but.... Anakin turns to the dark side!

It was much more mature than the other two prequels. Yoda owns. Great fight scenes and battles. I wont say any details, you have to see it!

      Good Visuals, Crap Story....Nothing Special.

It was laughable in parts, but i enjoyed other parts.

I still love the original three movies, got to say this was my fav out of the 'NEW' three.

I hated what they have done with Darth Vader, totally messed with the mythology of this character.

Ive just got back from the film, its 4am and very tired (lol).

Okay, everything turned out better than expected. Much better. One of my friends found out that I'd missed tickets and whatnot, and her dad had just decided he couldn't go, so she sold me his ticket (without an inflated price, too!). So I got in line at 10:00 this morning (a little late, but since I live in a pretty empty little corner of the US, the line wasn't too bad) and waited. Got some pretty awesome tan lines too. It was so freakin' sunny out there...Anyway. The line was probably the funnest part, as is the norm with midnight shows. Two guys kept driving around the parking lot and attacking random people with those fun-noodle things for swimming pools, but before long, they were mobbed by a mass of fans armed with plastic lightsabers. Incedentally, the local news crew nearly met the same fate. A few people were wearing some really awesome costumes (I didn't take the digi cam, but I'll get the pictures developed tomorrow and scan 'em in, maybe we could even make a seperate thread just for pictures from the people who were at the midnight showings, if any of you had cameras.) Well, after a while, a bunch of my friends showed up, who I hadn't known were coming, so I hung out with them all day, watching masses of brown-coated Jedi fight off hordes of Darth Vaders and Darth Mauls with plastic sticks. Damn good stuff for free entertainment.

      Now, onto the movie.

      -The effects were AWESOME.
-The story line was completed very much so, but what Yoda says to Obi-Wan in the end kind of let me hang just enough to be curious.
-I especially liked how they ended it--It looked almost identical to the state of things in Episode IV. Right there it made the technological differences between the two sets of Star Wars films seem much more insignificant than they appeared in Episode I. It kind of ties it all together so it looks like the next three episodes were MEANT to look the way they did, rather than all snazzy with bright yellow and chrome space craft and 3-D renders. I hope that explains it--It's not something that's easy to put into words.
-The little tidbits of things that they implied rather than showed you directly were really well done too...especially the last scene in the Jedi Temple (Those who've seen it know what I mean.) It set the mood VERY well.

Now the down side (minimized of course)

-Jar-Jar hadn't managed to fall off a cliff yet. Or die in any other extremely painful way. Is it too much to freakin' ask to just kill the guy off? I mean, it was definitely a step up from the last ones. He had no lines, and only showed up on the screen twice. It was still enough to make me kinda ticked off though.
-Some of the parts seemed to be more cheesy than what should be acceptable. The last Vader scene for example. I mean...it was just...lame. And some of the time the R2-D2 scenes seemed a bit too overdone as well. Like, it was a cool thing to play around with, but they shouldn't have messed with it too much. It's like watching people fall down stairs--the first two times it's hilarious, but after that it's kind of....blah.
-The prophecy scenes with Padme seemed a little awkward to me. There were much better ways they could have been done...they seemed a bit of an eyesore the way it was done.

Heh...oh yeah, it's my birthday! Woohoo! I'm 17 now. Which means I can now...something. I dunno. Y'know...in that respect, being 17 sucks. I mean, you're over the whole "I can drive now!" thing and onto the "What! I have to drive?" thing, and you're not to the "Hey, I can go get boozed!" thing yet. It's just one big rip-off. But at least I still get cake. Haha.
