There is no song I could listen to forever. I'd get sick of any one, eventually.

I have considered a thought experiment before: if I had to listen to one song for the rest of my life, which would it be? And the answer would be, whatever song exists that most resembles silence. Even if one note were played every 5 minutes, after a few days of it, even that would become annoying.

Being a musician myself, I'd pick all of the ones stuck in my head.

I will pick a few xD

this song is the most descriptive song of my life and I would choose it for that reason

here are some few that come to mind, there would be more but this is all I can think of at this time of night
      I've got friends-manchester orchestra
      poetic tragedy-the used
      the taste of ink-the used
      tunnel-the used
      From my rotting body,
      flowers shall grow
      and I am in them
      and that is eternity.
      -Edvard Munch

So, pretty much, the most popular songs from each of these artists are your favorites?

I would call very few of them the artist most popular. Time isn't nearly as popular as say comfortably numb, or the wall, mr roboto and renegade are far more popular than suite madame blue. same with sweet home alabama and freebird...

But could it be that they are extremely popular because they are so awesome?

Yes it is, and The Wall is an album.

Lol everyone knows freebird, it plays on the radio all the time.

Historically, unless you were to actually go out and buy the album, most people would only hear the singles on the radio.

      So, no.

That's funny, I heard this song at work today. Had no idea who it was or which song it was. I jammed tho. Better than the other BS they play there.

I could listen to Tool and Modest Mouse forever and ever and ever. If I had to choose, it would be Modest Mouse, just because.
