Ever wanted to be killed accidentally by a super-powered monster? If you said "Boy, have I!" you might want to stop loitering at your local nuclear power plant and check out Prototype 2.

Activision and GameStop have partnered to turn pre-orderers into bystanders in the game. "In addition to just seeing themselves in the game," said Radical Entertainment studio head Ken Rosman, "the winners will actually be able to locate their virtual selves and shape-shift Sgt. James Heller into their likeness."

US and Canada residents age 18 and up can enter by pre-ordering the game at GameStop before September 1 and then entering a drawing online. Winners will be sent to Vancouver to be turned into virtual collateral damage at Radical's HQ.

Even though this is exactly what I ranted about yesterday with the fucking US only bullshit, it's still cool for you American or Canadian peeps lol

That deadline is about a month before I turn 18. Fuck.

Game looks cool though. I remember someone posting a video of the first game in this series, sort of comparing the action to what someone might do in a LD. I've been thinking lately of buying it somewhere.

You might like San Diego but probably just to visit. Sometimes I feel like leaving the US because our government can't get their shit together and stop arguing while we continue to fall behind everyone else (cough-healthcare-cough).

Hah, you don't even want to see our government. Really. Never move here. At least not atm. The only hope I have is the Greens having the balance of power.
So something will actually get done in the next few years.

I've actually never even played Prototype before but it definitely looks interesting. I'll have to rent it when it comes out or play the 1st one.

The first Prototype was cool, but very very flawed. And it didn't help it came out the same time as InFamous.

Yeah I played them both. I liked Prototype better.
How was it flawed? I think I remember some thing about it that was annoying, but I can't remember exactly what it was.

Most notably the side challenges were such a headache. I remember some were really annoyingly hard to do, and it broke up the rest of the game. What I loved about inFamous was there were no "pointless" side missions, like doing a race for the sake of doing one. Infamous was way better in that the non-essential missions were still related to the story. For Prototype, you could have replaced the main character with Batman, Spider-Man, or anyone really.

Then, the base and hive attacks were fun to do for intel, but they weren't really useful outside of a mission.

The game just seemed horribly rushed outside of some gameplay ideas.
