I think we can expect a lot less filler, since the show is very defined by now. 13-14 episodes a season might be a good sign.

I watched those first two episodes and it looked pretty good. I suppose she might end up much more powerful than the avatar in the other one, since she has had time to train all the other bending techniques.

Woa, I just went on an Avatar binge and watched season 2 and 3, plus a few select season 1 episodes. Such an amazing series.

I'm a little late, but figured I'd gush in here. I just watched the first episode of Korra. It looks fantastic. I didn't have very high expectations for it, but it definitely started off great. I like the struggle for civil/human rights in a modernizing country and how the pendulum has shifted from oppressing benders to oppressing non-benders. I'm also enjoying the greater steampunk flavor, as well as the 1930's fell.

I do wish that the modernization was a little less Western though. One of the things I really enjoyed about Avatar was the fact that it had a lot of Asian influences. I think it would have been great if they had chosen to modernize the show without the Western feel. Seeing an Eastern modernization would have been much more interesting and original.

Interesting analysis indeed, this person went crazy with it, and here I thought all those sporadic and short flashbacks couldn't be analyzed at all.

Wow, that person did a really good job. I couldn't figure out what all of those scenes meant, they were shown so quickly. I don't agree with everything 100%, but that background sure does explain a whole lot. It's certainly very well-thought out. Thanks for sharing. I'll have to mull this over for a while.

What I really got out of the flashbacks was that Tarloc was controlling Toph, Aang and Sokka with blood bending.

Based on the analysis, whether it is true or not, I don't think he could've blood bended at the time, this was a pretty long time ago, so I doubt the son (possibly Tarrlok) would be in position to have that kind of control.

But either way, I really freaking hate Tarrlok after episode 8. He's a complete badass with the blood bending but dang it.....just...it pissed me off SO much seeing him just go crazy.

I think Korra should stop going late at night to settle things, she's getting too overconfident. And what Tarrlok said about her and her incompetence with air bending is true, even though kind of insulting.

Ugh, so many things to wonder about, like when she's going to learn Lightning Bending, Avatar State......and I would think that she would be able to Blood bend since Katara still had the chance to teach her (full moon unfortunately compared to Tarrlok doing it at will).

And when she does learn Avatar State, she most likley will be more fortunate than Aang when she can connect to the other past Avatar Spirits, instead of Aang's siutation where he activated it on accident in the final fight with Ozai

But even when that does happen, is she going to spam Avatar State like Sasuke does with Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan? Meh.

Rule 34 on Korra? Eeeeeeew.

Every time I see Korra getting in a bad situation, I feel like she's this close from dying, then realize "NO, she can't! There's still one more season after this!"

Would be kind of dumb for the title character to die, now wouldn't it.

Well, she could "die" like Aang did with Azula shot him with Lightning, and someone would do some miraculous water bending to revive or heal her.
