so the movie that got me into lucid dreaming Inception is available on the peacock app for free ! If any of you guys have never seen it or if you just want to watch it again ! I’m hoping it induces an ld tonight I’m about to watch now xo

I'm glad the movie helped you to have an interest in the practice. But for me personally, I hated it. Right from the start, with all the gun fights and crap, and Leanardo supposedly lucid in a dream and in a gun fight, and then having to use a rope to climb down the side of a building to make his escape, lol. Who needs a rope in a lucid dream to climb down a building when there is no need to fear falling? Or to have to even avoid being shot at to begin with because dream guns are completely harmless and useless tools in a dream. The only part I liked that had a realistic dream aspect. Spoiler: Is when he is talking to the lady about dreaming, and then she suddenly realizes it's actually a dream in that moment. Because I've gotten lucid in the same type of situation more than a few times and it's always awesome to be having a conversation about dreaming with someone, and then all of a sudden you realize you are actually in a dream right now. Like those moments when you are in a dream and talking with someone about lucid dreaming and decide to demonstrate a reality check, and the reality check you demonstrate tells you it's actually a dream now... I love it when that kind of thing happens. One memorable dream where that happened, was when in my dream, forum members Moonbeam an Pj where at my home and setting up equipment for doing dream laboratory experiments, at some point I realized it was a dream and had to be like. "Hey guys we're dreaming right now!" lol. I had that dream after Pj created the deep dreaming forum ( which at the time was invisible invite only.) And he had sent me a PM inviting me to join. I've not seen the Inception movie since it was in the theater, but I remember a scene where they are trying to meet each other in a dream and they are driving a car around to pick each other up. It's kind of laughable because no lucid dreamer seriously uses a car for transportation in a dream. The only reason to use a car in a lucid dream, is if you are just playing around with it for the fun of it. The best weapon of defense in a lucid dream, is having a lack of any fear of harm in the knowledge that your dream body is completely indestructible. But beyond that, telekinesis as it can be used in so many different ways. I can use telekinesis to control the actions of dream characters as if they are puppets on strings if I want. It's kind of fun to make a would be attacker simply turn around and walk away, lol. Or send them flying off into oblivion. But more often, I'll just let any kind of would be harmful event have it's way with me, because being indestructible is a lot of fun to me. I was reading through some of my old recoded lucids and found one where I used telekinesis to make a room full of people strip naked and start having sex with each other, lol.

I agree with you some of the scenarios in the movies didn’t make sense! I wish the utilized the unpredictability and boundlessness of dreams more. They never mentioned lucid dreaming specifically in the movie I think the they called it something else (you had to get hooked up to a machine) but I remember googling how to control your dreams after watching & that’s how I officially discovered lucid dreaming! I love the scene when she realizes she’s in a dream also definitely one of my favorite scenes! I literally just throw myself into every scene in the move imagining i was in the dream too lol! The beginning of the movie does throw you off a bit but the entire story is beautiful to me! ( & I already love Leo so I might be biased but I genuinely love this movie lol ) Omg I love how another forumer — in a way— induced a LD for you ! I wish I had forum friends or a dreaming figure that I thought about enough that I might see them in a dream😭 & not kidding my second or third lucid dream I was back stage in a studio with a bunch of celebrities & I couldn’t believe I realized i was dreaming & didn’t know what to do so I told them let’s have sex and we all started doing it for like 2 seconds then I woke up LOL

Even if Inception tried to make dreams just another setting for an action movie, I really did just enjoy that it was set in dreams. I wish they made more of these dream movies. Presently, my new dream movie I really enjoyed is Bi Gan's Long Day's Journey into Night. It's long and slow paced but it's beautiful.
