Tropic of Capricorn is interesting due to the time it comes from. I like it by now.

The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas. At first I didn't really understand the plot, but after my 26-page project on it, all is now clear. Yay English class...

Was about to say the last thing I read was last book of The Tamuli by David Eddings, but then I remembered the last Harry Potter book - Deathly Hallows - came after that. Damn good way to end the series, in my humble opinion.

Bought and read Frank Miller's Dark Knight Returns. Liked it for the most part. Joker could have been far better. Robin should not have been involved. At all.

Rest of it was fine. Intend to read the sequel.

Really good, hilarious, exciting and it has some good social commentary.

Next will be the sequel, when I find it...

I just finished the Gemma Doyle Trilogy. I read the 3 books over the past few days. I highly recommend these, especially to HP fans. The series is in my top 3 series now. Set in the Victorian times in a girls boarding school. Fantasy, historical fiction, light horror, and a dash of romance. I loved it.

I just got a book in the mail today.

The Unseen by T.L. Hines, I'm supposed to read it and write a full review on it. So I'll have that posted within the week.

I can smile about this one...

"The Truth About Chuck Norris: 400 Facts About the World's Greatest Human"

It's got all original Chuck Norris facts from a single author, none of it was rehashed from the internet.

My coworker had this in his car when we went out for lunch, I couldn't help but recite a bunch of lines while he was driving. I think we almost crashed several times from laughing @_@ hahaha, jk

I am currently reading Chronicles of the Black Company.

      Oh ya, and I've also got a bunch of other books to read:;

      -Dune: The machine Crusade
      -The Green Brain
      -Children of Dune
      -Hellstrom's Hive
-The Lightning Thief (a kid book, but my mom bought it for me now I have to read it so it won't go to waste)
-Lord of the Flies (another book I have to read because I bought it for English and ended up not reading it all)

By starting this new book, now I have to read the rest of them too. So I've got the sequel to Chronicles of the Black Company, the rest of the Dune series (which is like 4-7 more books including the prequels) 1984, and The Giver that I want to read afterwards. I also swore to myself when I was in 5th grade that I'd finish the Harry Potter series despite the social stigma so that adds two more books

I've got my work cut out for me for sure.

I quite enjoyed it, though the ending was a little dumb

currently, I'm trying to find a good book to read, but am having trouble thinking of what. I might go for another Koontz book. Phantoms sounded interesting

"Nothing to Lose" by Lee Child.

It's a very metaphorical type of story (the setting is about 2 towns, which are called "Hope" and "Despair") about a man called Jack Reacher (not much is told about him) who crosses the line from Hope into Despair. He's a very calm, collected man; not one to cause trouble, but one who would make you regret it if you did. He asks for a cup of coffee at his first stop in this strange town. They refuse the cup of coffee, yet his persistently requests it in spite of the refusals. What's strange about this situation is that there are plenty of other customers sitting around enjoying their food. After a fight almost breaks out, the manager of the place approaches Jack. After some intense conversation, a waitress comes out with the coffee, and Jack enjoys it, finally getting what he wants. Soon after, the men he was having some trouble with earlier give him trouble again, and take him outside, ready to start a fight. Jack asks them many questions: "What's your problem" "Why are you doing this?" "Do you always kick people out like this?" And the men refuse to answer. There's already a sense of suspicion about this town. Right when a bloody 4 on 1 brawl is about to start, a cop pulls up in his police vehicle and yells out to the 4 men "Back off!" and they do. Then the cop walks past them towards Jack and says to him "You're Under Arrest."

I can't summarize the entire book, of course! but that was a taste of how the book is written. It's very interesting, can't wait to get to the end to see what the hell is up with that weird town.

It's been a while since I've been reading books, I just picked this up at the library days ago. I guess I got tired of the lack of mental stimulation I've been getting from playing videogames @_@
