Thread: Just got GTA IV!!

OK,

I know I'm sooo behind with GTA IV, being as I only just picked it up yesterday. I actually saw this thread when it was first opened, but was afraid people would reveal too much about the game lol, so I steered clear.

Well anyway, all I've gotta say is, thank God for Rockstar. I've been playing GTA since it was a bird's eye view, and going from San Andreas to GTA IV feels like I'm going from the bird's eye view GTA to the GTA III series - the gameplay and environment are just deeper. It's on another level completely. How sick can a game get that you can take a cab ride and actually enjoy the view? Crazy. I love this game. I don't care how late I am to Grand Theft Auto IV (it's that good, I'll type out the name in full at least once), it's worth proclaiming my love of this game to the world lol. I got caught off guard, and ended up unprepared for the release. But it's here. Now.

Better late than never.

I haven't been able to play in over a week.

But now I'm free and I'm not getting up for hours!

The real question is did you beat it and do all the side missions?

I beat the main story, which is saddening enough as it is. Side missions and achievements are next on my list.

Is it me? Or does Niko gradually grow a bit of a beard throughout the game? I just met Officer McReary and I thought that Niko needed a shave. Has he always looked like that or is it just me?

He just looks that way always, maybe you haven't noticed?

I noticed a funny bug though in the game, I put glasses on Niko and he looked real fineee, so a mission starts and in the cutscene he has no glasses on 1 camera angle, then the next glasses again...was odd

Did anyone Kill Playboy X and aquire his safehouse? If you have then that's probably the only decent one in the game besides the safehouse adjacent central park or whatever they called it. Also I've been trying to find out can you go to a sports game and watch the liberty city warriors play against Las Venturas team? I heard that you can, however I've been all over the city and haven't found the arena.

I quite liked the apartment that Roman bought in Algonquin. There's also your own personal garage of Turismos really near there.

If you go to the nearest Perseus shop to that Algonquin apartment and look across the road from it, you'll be able to see a car dealership called "Grotti". Inside it are a butt-load of Turismos all available to be stolen (that is if you can evade a 1-star wanted level).

I only have the final mission - I am not sure what to choose!!

Working on pidgeons right now. Everything else is done for 100%.

I'm still 47% done, havent finished the alderny missions yet, i just did the mission with bernie where your SUPPOSED to have fun lol...then some dimitri punks ruin our gay cruise .

Bernie is just hilarious, I love the character, a gangster gone gay

And suprisingly, Niko is very accepting..sorta lol

I'm so far from beating the game because I spend most of my time driving around doing stunts or racing in multiplayer, MP gta race is so addicting.

I found this game as quite a disappointment. It was fun and all but not what I expected when I completed the game I found there wasn't much to do. I'm not a fan of going around and doing all the jumps ect. I just do story missions.

I prefer MGS4 to be honest.

Wow. I can't believe anyone being dissapointed with gta4, to be honest you have to be a lunatic to not love the game, theres nothing to do after the missions? are you mad?

Lets see:

Multiplayer, which has many modes, options...etc..that right there is another extra 1000 hours of gameplay maybe, for me atleast.

Stunts, kill the 100 birds for 100% completion
Get drunk with people

Play pool, bowl, darts

Push people down steps

, theres TONS to do, I havent even finished the game yet how occupied ive been with MP

I do admit mgs4 is amazing but, how many times can you really play through it?

The multiplayer is fun at times but, it gets a bit boring after a while.

But yeah I agree with you for the most parts, there's a lot to do. It just wears thin.

I can't be bothered with the jumps, finding them is boring as well as the birds. I did the tags in SA and that got boring. Finding and shotting/jumping is boring to me.

Multiplayer is fun at times but half the people are annoying, and when you find a good server, it gets boring after an hour.

Bowling/ darts and going out with the friends was fun but is so repetitive.

Besides that there isn't much left to do. Maybe I expected more from it with all the hype. Oh well, it's just a game.

I have it, but rarely play it. graphics are amazing, plot is good, driving is fun, shooting people can be fun, missions suck, replay value sucks and thats the only reason to play a game so I have to say its not a great game, I don't know how they could have made it better though...

Call Of Duty 4 online play and Battlefield: Bad Company are a couple of really addictive games. Halo 3 was too, but it has lost its fun after the 2,000 online matches I've played. A lot of good games are going to be coming out soon though, so I'm excited

I don't know what it takes to please todays modern human being but, this game keeps me so occupied I CAN'T FINISH THE MISSIONS...?why you ask

Cause im so damned entertained by just driving around and messing with the game, I have almost no will to finish the game because its so fun to just play without missions.

I do slightly agree that the missions are repetitive and a little too easy or short.

But in all seriousness, this game is alot better then COD4 or bad company imo.

COD4 ends up being a grenade and campfest online, with nobody moving, everyone camps and you die nearly 4 feet from spawn every time you play...thats NOT FUN.

The singleplayer cod4 is also very short

Yea, your right, im just shocked that any person can find it boring. I have yet to even finish the game, and I've played it almost everyday since the release date.

haha, well, I'm just used to walking around cities like paris, New Yorke, and SanFrancisco. It makes a big difference, because I have also been around nature and backpacking, and seem to find those scenarios much more beautiful than false advertisement covered cities and the same old same old. so naturally thats going to be my response, if it was GTA nature, I would probably dig it as much as you do.

I didn't say it was boring, I just said once finishing it there wasn't much left to do. It's just a game and I can say it's a disappointment if I want to. To be honest the 10/10 reviews it got was a bit over the top.
