      Anime:

      Aria
      Natsume Yuujinchou
      Ghost Hound
      Hanamaru Kindergarten
      Kimi ni Todoke
      Hyakko
      The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
      Sketchbook
      Midori Days
      Kobato

      Manga:

      Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou
      Yotsuba
      Aria

Most of them fall in under the catagories "slice of life" "comedy" "drama".

If I have to pick one, IŽd choose Aria. Its simply wonderful. Gets me all euphoric when I watch it.

I might check out Code Geass. If it's anything like full metal panic, than it's definitely worth checking out.

I don't know why anime is so awesome, it's like the more episodes you watch, no matter how boring, you get attached to the characters or something.

Currently watching Eureka 7 (just finished episode 27 out of 52) and I like it! Action, comedy, and plenty of unanswered questions unfolding at a decent pace.

I guess I never really replied with my favorites here. Big O is classic--some episodes were kind of loose and wandering, but the finale really tied it all together. The Gantz manga is really good, but the anime was terrible. I like Blade of the Immortal more for the artwork and character design than the stories. I enjoyed Death Note (anime), but clearly not as much as some people--like my sister, who named her baby Kira >_>

Have any of you whippersnappers seen The Mysterious Cities of Gold? It was perhaps the original anime to reach the West, when I was a kid, and while some of it seems kind of hokey or at least kid-oriented now, there are still enough really fantastic scenes and storylines to make it worth watching.

I read Hikaru No Go after noogah mentioned it (I like Go, though I don't get to play much), and it has some great characters and managed to really bring some drama to the world of professional board-gaming xD

Most of the Japanese animation I've seen has been movies, not series, and there hasn't been much I didn't like. All of Miyazaki, especially Naussicaa, Akira of course, Tekkon Kinkreet, Paprika, and a sweet occult miniseries called Doomed Megalopolis.

That's all that comes to mind right now.

      Anime:
DB+DBZ(Fantastic and is it ever soooo long) -> Took > 3 weeks to watch
Naruto(Fun to watch but manga is better, moves faster)
Yu-gi-oh(loved it back when I was in HS)
Adnan wa Lena(used to watch it as a kid, adapted from the jap ones).
      ....

      Manga:
      Koukou Debut
      Enren Debut
Naruto(Fantastic and very long, just read chapter 492 yesterday)
Pretty Face(Odd, but interesting and has some nice twists)
      To-Love-Ru
      Love Hina

So, umm, basically, not a huge list at all, but, some interesting ones. Will possibly read/watch more but not at the moment

Just watched the second-to-last episode of Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, and for series it's now at the top of my list.

Maybe she hoped he would be born a psychotic killer with a God complex, only to discover a mystical artifact that transforms him into a super intelligent yet highly ethical person with an alternate persona named Light who brings justice to people through entirely legal means?

@Tao: Have you read the manga? Death Note's anime seems a little more random than the manga too me. For example, the anime suffered from random Biblical symbolism, (foot washing?,) where it seemed more appropriate in the manga, (dark messiah figure.)

When I was younger I grew up watching everything on Toonami. I think I hit the age to watch Toonami at just the right age because I saw every episode of DBZ, Different Gundam Series (My favorite is either Gundam Wing or the new Gundam Unicorn), Ruroni Kenshin, YuYu Hakusho, Tenchi Muyo( which i think Im going to rewatch because I loved it) Ronin Warriors and several others.

Im currently consumed by Bleach. I love every aspect of it minus the filler content. I watched part of Death Note but at the time wasnt able to get the entire series. I plan on picking that up as well. I just watched Evangelion 1.11 the other night and was amazed by it.

Love the thread tho! Has given me alot of different ideas on other shows to pick up.

It's fantastic. What's more, you can read it pretty quickly. There are only 12 issues that many libraries carry and just about every book store has them.

      The Vision of Escaflowne

Maybe it's the use of Tarot that intrigues me, or perhaps the manipulation of fate. I watched the whole series in three days, glued to my computer. I loved sticking so close to a character suffering through overpowering emotions of concern, love, and indecision. It,s amazing to see every single character change for the worse scenario, there every decision it seems has the power to change the world. without a doubt my favorite.

that being said, I was extremely disappointed in the movie.

Gundam 00, Code Geass and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood my top3 in no order. I could watch those till eternity if I would have to.
Toradora! for the light-hearted. Very nice romantic-comedy anime.

As for manga, Bleach and Naruto because they were the first mangas what I heard of then I found Liar Game and Uzumaki. They are insanely good, worth just a check.

My favorite anime is Code Geass by far. My mind melted from all the awesomeness. lol. "Obey me subjects, obey me world!" Best line ever

Favorite manga: Either One Piece or Death Note. Both are good reads.

I guess I didn't mention that I LOVE Fruits Basket. It may not be as funny as Azumanga Daioh or intriguing as Death Note, but it makes me so happy whenever I watch it! Yah, it's cute, but it's fun and has a good story. Watching it for a 3rd time with a friend.

Also, I'm on the last volume of Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle and have thoroughly enjoyed it. Hoping for a good ending!
