Of course, individuals can profit, but no state can.. eventually it will be eaten by war. Be it their soldiers, minds or economy.

The only reason that I have a responsibility to pay them is because THEY said so.

I understand that they claim that I live in a bureaucracy, however they didn't consult me on this either. I was born, and lived my entire life out in the forest, hunting deer, catching fish.. I didn't see a car until this last year. Now, suddenly, some people tell me that I am supposed to pay them something called "money". I don't even know what this is. I've never used any of their "streets", bartered with any of their people, or used any of their public services. I think I should be able to live in my forest, the way people have done for thousands of years now, completely self sufficient, and not have to worry about them whining about this "money" that they want me to earn from them, and then pay back to them. I offered them a good succulent young goat, just to shut them up, but they want "money", which is ironic because they are the ones who made the money in the first place.

He did probably invent nothing new. It is also a bit controversial if a that man really existed. It has just many very good points, which is, surprisingly, the reason this book has survived this long. The point being, those facts have been know at least couple thousands of years and still almost all nations in the history have forgotten that.

We would build up our consciousnesses and our entire world. We would make revolutionary discoveries in all fields. Instead of inventing the New "Super weapon!" we could invent anti-gravity machines, or the next renewable energy source. But instead, petty fights over rich brats continue to destroy millions of people's lives while they sit back and smoke cigars. Hate is such a dark and low emotion, one that is nonsensical in the grand scheme.

During the Industrial Revolution, there were no wars happening at all, and look what happened there! Literally ground breaking inventions were being pounded out by the day. Now, we have slowed almost to the point of a stop. If we continue this ridiculous struggle, we will be right back where humanity started. Like a bunch of cavemen.

Except for the Civil War of course. And also we pound out great inventions by the day and we are in 2 wars at the moment. But of course yes we could be doing way more productive things than conducting wars.

And he is absolutely right (allegedly). I don't know how many times Constitutionalists need to be mercifully beaten over the head with examples of the inefficiencies of the Constitution.

It is a piece of paper. What worked for us back then doesn't necessarily work for us now. Clinging to an outdated constitution can be as harmful as getting rid of it altogether.

Regardless of whether the Constitution as a whole is still effective blah blah isn't really the debate here, the point is that we have the foundation of our government laid out in there. That foundation guarantees us liberties/prevents concentrated power in a single part of gov't. Those rights are being violated by the thingmajing the OP's talking about.

So basically it's an overturning of the War Powers Resolution? That's what I'm getting from this. And that contingency of Reps who opposed it with the amendment are our only hope? They are... the Rebellion. And the are within the Empire's Senate! It's all coming true.

But seriously, nothing new. For the last 5,000 years, those in power do what they can to stay in power and gain more money and power so they can pass on that money and power to their children when they are dead and can no longer spend said money and wield said power.

How can you say it "guarantees" us anything without debating its effectiveness? What incentive does the government have for following the Constitution and "guaranteeing" these freedoms?
