Point? It wasn't directed to me so I can't see the utter stupidity in it?

The utter stupidity in asking what someone took away from a subjective experience? One that is unique to their own perceptions and theories apparently centered around an engaging movie experience? Please, I actually value the insights of Philosopher even though I disagree with him on many occasions. You on the other hand can keep your opinions to yourself because I don't really wish to see them. Go troll facebook groups.

One could only assume your post was a loaded question.

To be fair, the way that question was asked made it seem as if you were genuinely unaware and you needed help. Something like "What did you take away from the film?" on the other hand, would have made it clear that you were only interested in PhiosopherStoned's thoughts. The quote isn't exactly direct enough, it's likely that people would assume you quoted it simply to address what was quoted rather than whom.

Whom? Did I use the correctly? That doesn't sound right, nor does most of the post for that matter, but I'm drawing a blank. Wait... how exactly does one "draw" a blank?

haha. I believe the same way that one does not think of something.

      Yes, you used "whom" correctly.

And there we go laughing man, your post was vague. Evidently.

whether he wanted philosopher's subjective intake or just the point of the movie explained doesn't really matter, the answer would be quite the same. perfectly valid question.

If you've seen the movie, it's blatantly obvious, to the dumbest moron, what points the movie addresses about society. So one could only assume he had an underlying question within his question.

      so what?

the question wasn't directed to you, where is the blatant stupidity exactly, since when can questions in a debate have no underlying purpose and how can you not see that different people may put value on different points raised in a movie that further the understanding of, in this case, PS's point of view.

OF course they can, but he's trying to make out as if his question was just to get PS's subjective opinion.

If he said, as Gavin pointed out, "What did you take away from the film?" That would be a perfectly normal question with no alternative motive.

Tommo, you're insanely paranoid. You need to relax.

Probably from that. dajo laid out what I would say pretty well. There's really nothing that screams "ALTERNATE MOTIVE!" about his post. Hence, paranoia, I think.

Well, I think it's pretty obvious there is.
This started with a facepalm, I was gonna leave it at that until he decided to pretend that it was an innocent question.

Yeah and you've given no reason to conclude why it's "pretty obvious."

I'm done with this. I don't know why people are making such a big thing of it.

wtf, dude. This is your first reply here. There were many responses given to what now appears to be a masturbatory bitch-fest of yours, none of which you responded to at the time. Now is not a good time for you to come in and complain about the new direction that was taken in your absence.
