CNN FOX It looks like we - the US - were wrong (again) about WMDs. What do you all think of this new development? What do you think about that "intelligence" that has been helping to fuel the "push for WMD" claims by the Administration for the past four years, and what do you think these new developments say about the credibility of claims of Iran being such a strong threat, about Iran's possibilities of continuing their nuclear weapons program, and about the future of Iran/US relations?

It seems that in both Iraq and Iran that their leaders were tyrants. I am not justifying our actions, but what I'm eluding to is that Saddam, for the most part, stayed out of the international eye. He kept to ravaging his own nation. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's specifically denied efforts to hault after multinational community had requested that he stop his uranium enrichment program. Iran's leader seems quite out spoken and easily provoked. This may seem bad, in some ways it is. However if Iran does take actions towards provoking other nations and not just catching our oil, did I say that - I mean eye, then multi lateral discussion and sanctions may be more of an option. With Iraq, the UN was not behind us and gives us much less persuasion over these rogue nations. That is just one of a hundreds of vantages points. Good call O on a CNN AND Fox perspective

The new intelligence report will definitely reduce the administration's credibility, but when there was so little to begin with, it hardly matters much. What's most troubling to me is that the administration hasn't immediately taken credit for halting Iran's nuclear program. Taking credit for it would be ridiculous, but it would provide the administration's tactics with some unearned legitimacy. Apparently, the top priority is to maintain Iran's status as a global threat, even though doing so is politically harmful, harmful to negotiations, and may result in Iran's nuclear program being revived as a means of deterrence.

Perhaps they just realized Iran had its defenses too tight so they're issuing this so no one thinks they're a threat anymore, and soon they'll come up with some bs reason to attack Syria next or some other country with too many national industries.

I heard Bush just a few minutes ago on the radio saying how dangerous he still thinks Iran is. Our government snubbed Iran in 2003 when they wanted to normalize relations with us. They had a much more moderate leader then. He went to the EU and they were willing to talk to him. So they deserve the credit. Iran was feeling much more generous towards the US after 9/11, but we destroyed any good will they had, and drove them further to extremism. Well people will believe our government's lies, or they won't care enough to object, so on it goes.

What you are going to see in the coming decade is president bush and presidents put into power by the Council on foreign try to start WW3. If they don't succeed in Iran they'll try with North Korea or China. By the time WW3 rolls around there will be a north american Union, Asian Union and so on. The Power Elite will use WW3 as an excuse to push for a one world government. These wars are all lies, based on lies. They may even try to stage another 911 like tragedy to start more war.
