      Well said.
But I'm sure it has nothing directly to do with the apocalypse. It's just a sign. And trust me, the predictions will be revised quickly, come 2013 and no armageddon.

on december 21, 2012, we will be perfectly aligned with the center of the galaxy. moon > earth > sun > center of galaxy.
it happens every 26,000 years or so, on the winter solstice.

Obviously this blackhole moves away, right? RIGHT? i don't wanna get sucked in. Obviously i'm dumb, it has to or this planet would not be billions of years old.

That's why there are no aliens in the solar system, they all went "oh god it's humans, let's go somewhere where they wont screw with our planet", so much pollution it's being driven into space and suffocates other planets. Please stop, i really wanna meet an alien guys.

Gee... the planets are lining up. People will find any excuse to panic. It's not like the laws of orbital mechanics suddenly fly out the window when things line up.

And yes, there is a supermassive black hole at the center of our galaxy. It's also far enough away to have approximately zero gravitational effect on our solar system.

Venus is full of carbon dioxyde. Its average temperature is 100 degrees hotter than that of Mercury, despite being twice as far from the Sun...

The funny thing is that the planets aren't even lining up .

      1. There is no blackhole inside the center of the galaxy. That theory has gottne its ass kicked.

      2. The the center of our solar system is a power surge that sends cables of plasma all our the universe, when we hit the alignment the center, and our sun are in direct feed. This happens TWICE every 26,000 years, in two opposite ways.

Everything works out in the end, sometimes even badly.

The video in the thunderbolts of the God thread.

Also, spartiate, here's something for you.

Like I said, this event occurs every 13,000 years. Each time it marks either the midpoint or new long cycle. This long cycle lasts just under 26,000 years. I'm not completely sure of this but I believe the Neanderthals and some other species of man were annihilated by a volcano. 13,000 years ago, when it happened again, a time period known as the "younger dryas" suddenly ended. During the younger dryas the ocean levels sank drastically. When it ended, massive flooding ensued and cultures near the baltic, Mediterranean and pacific islands had to start over. So, though I urge you to research for yourself, so far it seems we've hit two catastrophic events so far on the date.

And if I can't explain the alignment, you could also research that for yourself and see if it makes sense to you.

I'm not saying it's doomsday, I'm just saying is that as far as significance goes 2012 is not just a "6, 6, 6."

Its called a "supermassive black hole". It is a star in the center of a galaxy so big (millions of times the size of the sun) that its gravity sucks in light.

      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supermassive_black_hole

It is THOUGHT that they are in the center of every galaxy. This is one, however, in the middle of the Milky Way. And we're slowly being sucked in.

Its gravity is so strong that it "sucks" in light. You think it has no effect on matter? What else do you think makes our galaxy rotate? Its like water going down a drain.

For that matter, what do you think an active galactic nuclei is? A star getting bigger and bigger as more things, IN THE GALAXY, are sucked into it.

Nah, it's just that "sucked" isn't the right word, attracted is more like it. In any case, we aren't getting pulled towards the center of our galaxy, that thing is devastating to the galactic core, but we're too far to be to affected by it.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. That damn thing is what makes our galaxy move, which means we must be affected by it. Standby for link.

That link just proves that our galaxy has a supermassive black hole, I know that already. Find me a link that shows a galaxy that collapsed in on itself.

The process takes thousands, if not millions or billions of years. We could never observe the whole process. If you read closely in the link, it states, well just hold on a minute.

That still doesn't say that our glaxy will collapse. Plus, according to the Hubble sequence, young, dense galaxies tend to spiral out over time.

What forms galaxies? Large objects pulling in surrounding matter.

You know, many scientists believe we are slowly being pulled toward our sun, the same as within a galaxy, and even a universe!!

Lets get off this subject and bring it even bigger. If a solar system is a cluster of planets, and a galaxy is a cluster of billions of solar systems/stars, then could our universe just be a cluster of billions of galaxies? And somewhere out there, there could be another cluster of galaxies, the same as there are different galaxies?

And what if these galaxy clusters are porportionate in distance to the distance between galaxies? If you are on the same page as me on this point, you should have a major mindfuck, especially if you keep exploring the possibilities.
