I'll start things off by saying I don't get why people view sex between teens and unmarried adults in such a negative way.

Here at my high school, just like every other high school, we have health class. It is mandatory for all students, and though I myself have not been through the course as of yet, I have heard several stories of health class and how it operates. Apparently, a big part of it is just a bunch of anti-sex scare tactics. About the possible things that can happen from having various types of sex. It is my understanding that it is less "Use protection" and more "Don't do it, cause if you do, bad things will happen".

Another thing, I saw a TV ad once with kids all saying to the camera, "Tell me to wait to have sex" and a few other lines of that nature. This ad was geared toward motivating parents to talk to their kids about waiting to have sex.

Correct me if I am wrong as I am relying completely off memory here, but here in the U.S., in most of our states the age for consensual sex is 17. I understand why there needs to be an age limit for consensual sex, but our bodies are geared to have sex at an even younger age.

I don't understand how all this anti-sex rhetoric can override logic and reasoning. What I mean is, they should encourage protection instead of abstention. I speak from experience, my peers aren't listening to that other bullshit. For the most part kids around here are smart and use protection, but the teen pregnancy statistics are startling.
