Tofu is the Devil's poop. |

You need to prepare it, marinate it in sauces, fry it, etc etc. What you need to do is go try some Thai food - they prepare their tofu excellently. |

I've often wanted to go vegetarian. But, being raised eating meat it's pretty tough to give it up. I've never made it more than about two months or so before giving in. It would probably help if I had a good vegetarian cook book. |
|
Well, just buy a book then :p |
|
I've been a vegetarian all my life. |

Ha I know, my Chinese friends say the same thing. Even though the place I get my food is from a Chinese restaurant run by Chinese people, who are immigrants. (Yeah I live in NY) But I'm sure it's still "American Chinese Food." |

I think you can thank Chef Boyardee--he sold America on its first 'ethnic' food by simplifying Italian dishes until they were assembly-line reproducible and teaching people to pronounce a few of them. Chinese take-out, Tex-Mex, Thai, Pan-Asian and the rest pretty much followed suit. Most of those places even if they're not franchises still just about come in a box. They're more brands based on other cuisines than anything anyone in those countries ever actually ate. |

If you have a sense of caring for others, you will manifest a kind of inner strength in spite of your own difficulties and problems. With this strength, your own problems will seem less significant and bothersome to you. By going beyond your own problems and taking care of others, you gain inner strength, self-confidence, courage, and a greater sense of calm.Dalai Lama
