Please tell me what is it, that leads someone somewhere?

By all means, feel free to lead the way, because I haven't seen that of any of you, either. You whole lot do a bunch of naysaying and preaching how it should be for someone, which is quite hypocritical, considering you don't really post many posts or threads of substance other than that of critiquing. Why is that, exactly? What and who are you trying to prove wrong? Isn't the idea to spread new ideas and thought, and not stifle them?

I obviously wasn't posting this thread as the next religion and all of you know that, it's more simple food for thought. Which should've been self-evident by my lack of content in the initial post. So, either take it as that or don't, but saying that you just felt compelled to leave some dick comments and critique, and it was justified for x and y reason, simply doesn't fly with me.

It accomplishes nothing other than showing your complete intolerance to differing ideas, and that's it. I'm not posting this in a science forum as the new theory for the ages. So, think about it for a second before you think yourself the next einstein by showing me the meaningless left-brained techno-babble light... I use logic too and this thread clearly wasn't without logic...so stop preaching to me like it is...

It's cool, though... Since you guys feel it so important to prove this thread 'wrong', as if you have all the answers for what's 'right', let it die. I'm done... you guys 'win'.

      Peace. (^o^)v

It's important to challenge people who present new ideas, else how would we separate the wheat from the chaff? Those who present new ideas need to have a little thicker skin than you do, else they should just keep their ideas to themselves.

There are tens of thousands of universal theories bouncing around the internet, and most of them simply contradict each other. Any rational person would conclude that almost all of them are wrong.

Again, I wasn't the one presenting the idea, merely passing someone elses forward for people to check out because I found it interesting. I definitely wasn't posting it to get comments from same left-brained trolls trying to logically trump people in order to placate their own egos.

You're just sticking up for them, attempting to make their actions justifiable. It doesn't justify it. Sorry...

Enough. I'm sick of your attitude. Your initial post is completely fallacious and irrelevant to the world at large. You asked what we thought about this concept, and we answered.

If you can't stand having people logically question your ideas (and very calmly, at first, I might add), then don't post them here. Just keep this crap to yourself and then you can be all smug about how open-minded you are on your own.

I entertained your idea, I watched your videos, I thought about it, I posted my conclusion. You called me a 'left-brained troll' and refused to look up a relevant term when I referenced it, insisting that I was closed-minded. Do you fail to see the irony of this?

Move the conversation along, please, gentlemen. Enough of this.

(and by "conversation" I mean talk that's related to the thread topic, not each other)

      Kudos on originality.
      [insert duplicate of previous post]
      Kudos on hypocrisy.

Anyway, humm... sure, let the conversation continue, if somebody wants to actually respond to my points instead of whinging that people don't seem to feel an obligation to automatically agree with whatever he has written. Basically what Skysaw said.

Call me crazy, but if I have to continue a thread withstanding a barrage of uptight children that unnecessarily nitpick and condescend on people at every possible turn, rather than discuss things as equals without that constant stink of condescension in the air, then I'd honestly rather not continue... Perhaps in the past, I've gotten a few kicks running together with people on some ego trips, but not anymore. However, please don't get me wrong, I will bite when unnecessarily cornered.

Anyway, as I said before, just let the thread die... you guys obviously know what's best, right...?
Far be it from me to post something for people to chew, not spit on. How silly of me.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't it you, Xei blatantly acting like a dick asking we move on and close it back on page one with those constant uncalled-for snippety remarks? Don't even get me started with Xaqaria and gnome. Xaqaria has had his posts removed in other threads of mine for triple posting off-topic one sentence blurbs of blatantly negative crap, and even came back and sneered multiple times afterwards. Gnome carries this subtle 'in-your-face' air about him, which is clear as day to anyone that bothers themselves stepping into the arena with him. Their constant condescension has always been rampant, and right in everyone's face in nearly every discussion they participate in. And now, you guys have the audacity to act as if you've somehow had a sudden change of heart and were being cordial to me in critiquing this? Come on now. Don't make me laugh. All of you, are simply trolls in denial... and I really hope you can face that fact, and grow from it. Go back and look at your previous posts and the tone you take from time to time, maybe you'll notice something you didn't see the first time around. I know my own shortcomings, and am trying to better myself by not going down ego-trip lane, anymore. Please try and do the same...

Either way, I honestly and seriously, hope you all have a good day. And, as I said before, I'm done trying to convince you of the logic and validity of this thread. Peace.

I only skimmed that but, like I said, if you wish for there to be a discussion then simply respond to what other people have said instead of being melodramatic. The people here don't hate you, it's just that this is a rather obscure idea and hence most of the people talking about it will think it's wrong. If you want a mature discussion then the proper thing to do is to respond to their points properly. If you want people to lie and say 'hmm I think you could be right' just to make their posts sound nicer, well... sorry, but this is the real world. Nobody has anything against you, they're just trying to respond with their opinion on your opinion.

No. Asking to close a thread isn't mature behavior, and stinks of this 'I know better' attitude...

Like I keep saying, in that case you should have made clear it was a metaphor, instead of science, because from a scientific perspective, which is what most people will naturally think you are trying to take, this isn't valid in the slightest and hence is a bit pointless. From a metaphorical viewpoint then of course, it has validity and warrants further discussion, but at least make that clear; you never tried to do that, you just went on the defensive.

I'm thinking this discussion is rather taking the form of the snake in your signature now, so I'll drop out now unless you or someone else responds with something related to the original idea and people's opinions on it.

Left-aligned thought processes, or not. I shouldn't have to lay out how to have a civil discussion...

How can everything be owed to sound if sound needs a medium to travel through?

In the beginning, there was nothing!

Sound is the vibration of Matter.

All matter vibrates. It's very simple.

Just look at the guy who uses high frequency sound waves to burn salt water.

Temperature is the kinetic energy of matter. All matter has kinetic energy.

Does this mean that kinetic energy is the source of all existence?

      Typical gnome style...

Random post: Hey guys check out these pictures of the beach, water really is beautiful and the life-giving force that we sometimes take for granted, don't you think?

gnome: Actually, its not water. It's dihydrogen mono-oxide, or H20. And the connective driving force behind it, isn't in the water itself but in the breakdown of the chemical bond through the metabolic processes of the body. Metabolism is the sum total of anabolism and catabolism. In anabolism, water is removed from molecules (through energy requiring enzymatic chemical reactions) in order to grow larger molecules (e.g. starches, triglycerides and proteins for storage of fuels and information). In catabolism, water is used to break bonds in order to generate smaller molecules (e.g. glucose, fatty acids and amino acids to be used for fuels for energy use or other purposes). Water is thus essential and central to these metabolic processes, yes, but hardly something I'd call "the life giving force". Please don't make broad general statements before you talk from ignorance.

Gnome made a perfectly fine counter-argument, not a random post. If you disagree with his tone, that's one thing, but if you don't see how his post was relevant, then you are simply not trying very hard.

The point he is making is that it is a fallacy to pick one attribute that all matter has in common, and claim that it is the most important without examining what else it has in common. Or more specifically, that claiming that since all sound is vibration that all vibration is sound... it is not.

Yes but the universe is mostly nothing.

The matter is not connected. So the vibrations do not get passed along...

If you want to make a "everything is made of--" then it is energy.

What is everything made of? Matter.

What is matter made of? Energy.
