Bin Laden plans to attack Europe over Mohammed cartoons.

Usama Bin Laden is pissed about some cartoons making fun of Muslim prophet Mohammed. Mr. Sanity wants to lash out by killing lots of people who had nothing to do with the cartoons. The cartoons originated in Denmark, so he is threatening Europe. See how it works? Not only does he plan to attack the cartoonists over... cartoons. He is threatening their entire CONTINENT. That is the nut salad we have been dealing with in recent years. I guess he is a reasonable man who wants to negotiate in a rational manner. Just understand what he wants and roll over like poodles no matter what he demands.

I am against those comics, but this is too much. You know what I think? The accuracy of his missile capabilities is so bad, he's just threatening all of Europe as a cover up.

Well there is the long beard. I don't think that midrift is going to shake like a bowlful of jelly, however.

true, they both have long beards, but bin laden doesnt seem the type to keep his nice, clean, and snowy white. If bin laden could fly around and deliever "presents" to every household in the world in one night, we would be f*cked.

Musilms killing Christians is pretty much a little more offensive than some cartoons. There have been heaps of christian cartoons parodying Jesus or god or whatever and he gets all pissed over this shit.

mmhmm, but I bet some fundamentalists Christians would get offended, just like the fundamentalist muslims are.

I don't think we should have invaded Iraq. I don't think we should have been so light in Afghanistan, back when Bin Laden was (supposedly) there and focused all our force on a distratction. For as long as we are continuing to reap the consequences of that distraction, and our administration continues to defend the decision to initiate it (all the while trying to undermine the intelligence of the American people by maintaining that the two were related) I will continue to be critical of it.

But, to answer your question: No. I don't think we should "invade" Pakistan. I think that, as the proclaimed "greatest superpower in the world" we have many more tools at our disposal than "invasion." We have individual cells. We have factions. We have assassins. We have some of the greatest specialists on the planet. And, in 5 years, we have had ample time to track down Bin Laden and either expose his position, objectively expose those aiding him, or walk up behind him and put a bullet in the back of his skull.

If, for some odd reason, we were only given the option of invasion, but were given the choice to either invade Iraq, which had nothing to do with the man "responsible" for 9/11, or Pakistan - if it was proven, beyond the shadow of a doubt, that we had him pin-pointed - guess which one I'd choose.

I guess we could easily set up a special forces mission with Middle Eastern men who can fit in in Pakistan, kill Bin Laden, and never breathe a word about what really happened. I think anything other than that would be considered an invasion by the people of Pakistan, and they have a very unstable government and fragile nuclear situation there. I think the government might be keeping Bin Laden alive so they can monitor him and catch as many people as possible who are under him. He might end up being the last high ranking Al Qaeda member we catch. Whatever the case is, the focus in the war on terror is way bigger than just Bin Laden.

They also don't want Bin Laden to be martyred, and there's no guarantee he wouldn't kill himself if captured alive. I think the administration is perfectly willing to let Bin Laden age to death, regardless of subsequent activities. In all likelihood, he may linger for several decades more, like an Arabian Castro.

Materially, sure. Symbolically, while not the be-all/end-all of the terrorist movement, he's very significant.

That's true. But it's just hard for me to see that as anything else other than a "ghost to chase" - a "But Bin Laden is Still Out There...so we are authorized to do (insert freedom infringement and/or governmental power-expansion here). What do you think emboldens the terrorists more, the thought of Bin Laden being martyred, or the image of him thumbing his nose at the world's greatest super-power and saying "catch me if you can", as the public figurehead to their cause? - That he died in battle against the West, or he was able to survive battle with the West?

LOL @ bin laden, cartoons makes him want to murder innocent europeans?

sorry mr. bin laden but, your a fucking LOSER...religion is a scam, a sham, a fake, a fairy tale, a fictional work...yet theres idiots like him who in the name of religion kill thousands.

thats the epitome of dumb ass, in my opinion, religion is more responsible then the man himself, if these religions did not exist, there would be nothing to kill or die for.
I would rather die on my feet then to live on my knees.

Here's an interesting collection of articles on the subject on Slate:

      http://www.slate.com/id/2187091/

This one in particular from http://mypetjawa.mu.nu/archives/191858.php

The Jawa Report thinks Bin Laden's dead: "The Muhammad cartoons were first published in September of 2005! There is literally no doubt in my mind now. This is an old audio, probably from 2006, of bin Laden. As Sahab must have been embarrassed that they had nothing to offer the world on this the anniversary of the invasion of Iraq, so they hurriedly released an old audio they had lying around. The fact that there was no accompanying banner is evidence that they threw this together last minute." Pretty much, adds Report on Arrakis: "Why is Bin Laden harping on news from 2 years ago? No mention of Geert Wilders' upcoming movie? No one's even seen the movie and already you have some muslims foaming at the mouth. But Bin Laden only talks about the motoons, because he doesn't know about Fitna, because in most likelyhood he is dead."

You think he's gonna start making weekly youtube videos?

      Maybe set up a podcast?

Then maybe companies could like sponser him because of the high ratings he'd get. You'd get logos like Coca Cola pinnned on the back of his cave and him wearing Nike trainers and such, then some on screen advertisements.

" DO YOU HATE BACTERIA ON YOUR SURFACES! Blow those infidels to hell with new Osama nuclear blast cleaner! You don't have to fly a plane into your bathroom to get rid of those nasty germs in your toilet and limescale on your taps. Just a few quirts of Osama nuclear blast cleaner and BOOOM! No more western bacteria left! Order now and recieve a free Osama Doll, personally signed by the man himself!"

no no no good sir. According to me, Joe, the genius. ( and... maybe he giot his info from muslims at his college).

Although they have a special place for Muhammed, all the prophets are of equal importance. I;m not sure why then the Muslim extermist didn;t threaten to bomb anyone insulting Jesus( the Muslim extremists), maybe because you;d just be running into the street bombing antyone you could see and it would be really really confusing.

I'd lol at that though, like one city in Iraq launches ten planes and another city launches ten planes and it's plane warz!!

      " You insulting Jesus!"
      " So did you!"
