Lol go ahead and not read the actual quotes there aren't taken out of context...

Has it ever occurred to you that since Einstein spoke German that not only could some of the translations be wrong...but that snippets of a long long run of statements can be used as propaganda?

Cite where the qoutes come from, and from the entire document or lecture, or interviews came from or don't qoute them at all. At least not in this thread.

Oh ok, It's not Einstein who said it. Who is it then Pinocchio? They are Einstein quotes so just deal with it. If it wasn't Einstein I would not quote it. It's not my fault if you don't like the quotes.

Unless you cite your source, the quotes may as well be from Pinocchio. "Just deal with it" is not a useful argument. It just makes you appear lazy.

It's makes you lazy not me. As your the one that wants me to do your research for you. I know it's Einstein because I'm not really paranoid about basic quotes existing that I don't want to accept as a quote. Being paranoid about sources is also not useful it just makes you appear incompetent. Especially when you can't even look it up yourself.

Since you are so trusting and don't need sources, let me tell you that in fact I have discovered that Pinocchio actually DID say those things. I looked it up, and have verified it 100%. I would post the source here, but posting it would just make me paranoid, so I haven't bothered.

Whatever you say. How ridiculous. I was quoting Einstein not Pinocchio. That was only a joke because you were so paranoid that you thought it might be Pinocchio.

And now you say you have verified that it was quotes by Pinocchio but you don't want to post the evidence because you will appear paranoid? I think you already appear paranoid enough.

How can you so misunderstand everything you read? I will break down my post for you, since it doesn't seem to make sense to you.

Have you ever heard the saying "Turnabout is fair play?" It means, in a nutshell, that if you do something to further your aims, it is equally fair for someone else to use the same means to further theirs. In this case, the "turnabout" in question was the use of unsupported claims, and a flat-out refusal to support them when questioned.

Obviously Pinnocchoi didn't say those things. Only the simplest of minds would think that that was the point of my post, or even that I believed it to be so. The argument served only to show you how meaningless it is to make a claim without being able to support it.

If your goal is to be believed or even listened to, you should strive to make a more convincing argument than someone on the other side. Here, the other side was presented by Sandform. He gave full quotes in context and sourced them. You, on the other hand, provided snippets of quotes from unknown contexts and refused to delve any deeper. It's not whether or not Einstein said them (and I believe he did), but that we have no larger context within which to understand what he was getting at.

It is this larger context that would have supported your position, but you refused to supply it. Why on earth would I want to look it up when I'm already on Sandform's side? Why would anyone want to look it up if you yourself were too lazy to supply the information?

You give me no choice but to conclude that you either have no idea of the context, or have realized that supplying the context would destroy the point you were trying to make in the first place.

In the end, it won't matter if you're right or wrong... a bad argument will make you appear wrong anyway. If your only alibi in a murder case is a person you refuse to reveal to the judge, you'll end up in jail innocent or not.

Um I wasn't saying he didn't say it... I don't know how you got that out of what I said. I said most of the "quotes" people use for him are taken out of context and used to facilitate lies. You see, there is this whole thing where Einstein had a different definition for "religion" and "God."

You see, a quote normally goes like this.

      So and so is speaking.

Long contrived sentence. Long contrived sentence. Long contrived sentence. Long contrived sentence. QOUTE. Long contrived sentence. Long contrived sentence.

Normally there is this HUGE important detail in the long contrived sentences lol.

Your failure to understand that when Einstein used words like religion and God he wasn't speaking about a supernatural concept is funny.

Sandform I wasn't talking to you. I was responding to the other paranoid guy. I don't think supernatural anything. I was just quoting Einstein. What's the big deal....Words like god and religion existed way before Einstein mentioned them. It's something you will have to deal with.

Sorry I guess he deleted his post since there is no one in between your original quotes and your second post besides me heh. I just don't like quotes that try to persuade people into believing that other people held beliefs contrary to what they actually believed.

Every single person has a different definition of God. You as an atheist just think that everyone thinks that God is a fairy. Except for Einstein, Einstein is the only guy on earth who has a different concept of God according to you.

If I quote Einstein on God, I'm talking about the exact same God Einstein was talking about.

It is possible for people to have a concept of God which is not a fairy. It is possible for people to have a concept of God that is the same as Einsteins concept of God. And if those people have the same cocnept of God as Einstein, it's only logical to quote Einstein on God.

ChaybaChayba exactly, besides, I just quoted Einstein and look who freaked out because it had the word god in it and refused to believe that it was proper quotes from Einstein. And then they say they are not religious but that is exactly the most religious extreme thing anyone has done on this forum.

I think Einstein was an awesome man of his time. As a Christian I utilize a lot of his theories to get my points across. I respect his work and I respect his legacy, however I don't care wether he believed in God, Zues, or no God at all. What he believed has no bearing on wether Supernatural entities exist or not. So in the end his personal beliefs are pretty irrelevant to me.
