It's things like this that make me want to start my own schools, and educate children with the TRUTH. We are stunting our own growth as a civilization and species because we are afraid. It truly astounds me that had it not been for certain people and government control, today the entire planet could be supplied with free energy.

Edison was nothing but a coward and a thief.

Weird, it works for me... You sure it's not your connection or country?

Anyway, tesla invented pretty much anything you can imagine and all of it was scooped up and classified by the U.S. government. Most patents haven't even seen the light of day, of those that have 700 different everyday inventions like wireless technologies, lasers, etc. are accredited to him.

Some of his stuff was so dangerous he knew mankind's consciousness wasn't ready for his works so he split it up into parts and gave it to different governments so that they would have to work together if they wanted the technology.

Edison was nothing but a coward and a thief.
Nevertheless, Tesla displayed the occasional cruel streak; he openly expressed his disgust for overweight people, once firing a secretary because of her weight.
Well, atleast Edison was not cruel.
Edison became a telegraph operator after he saved three-year-old Jimmie MacKenzie from being struck by a runaway train.
Edison saved a three year old boy, and your calling him a coward.

Seriously, please read more about Edison as he is no thief. Tesla has made alot of crazy claims, like Einstein being a theif and stealing the idear of relativity from someone else.

does the planet Earth reproduce, well no unless you count the moon.

What the hell? Edison was a cruel bastard. He electrocuted animals in public...dogs, even a damn elephant!! Just to try to disprove Tesla's alternated current theory. When the public was shocked and appalled and agreed with Edison, Edison then stole Tesla's alternated current (AC) and used it anyway. What a shit.

So YOU read more about Tesla before trying to support Edison. You obviously know nothing about Tesla...or Edison. Edison stole every idea of Tesla's. He was terrified of Tesla's genius and knew he would ruin him. He even attempted to sabotage his lighting up of the Chicago fair by claiming the patent on his lightbulb and not allowing Tesla to use any of his lightbulbs. So Tesla invented his own different sort of lightbulb and worked it out anyway. He was a genius and a hero. All Edison did was steal from him again and again and continually attempt to black ball him from receiving any support. Not to mention...he burned down Tesla's lab. (not proven but obvious)

Tesla had a vision to provide free energy for all. This was bad business. Where's the money in free energy? This is why he was so persecuted and discredited and no one has a clue who he is these days. It's disgusting really.

Tesla said it best: “Let the future tell the truth, and evaluate each one according to his work and accomplishments. The present is theirs; the future, for which I have really worked, is mine.”

He couldn't have been more right. A true genius before his time, unappreciated...we owe our entire modern society to Tesla. Radio, remote control, electricity, neon, etc. etc. etc. All Tesla's. And why do you think no one knows who he is? Fuck Edison. There's nothing I hate more than people stealing/copying my work. The fact that Tesla had to put up with this through his entire life is enough to drive anyone insane.

      Aquanina exactly. Cheers.

Edison is no match for Tesla. It is a disaster that he is even in the history books all bolstered up like that. How fake is it? Where is Tesla. Hardly no mention compared to Edison. Makes you think, why the hell, who is writing this rubbish for our children? how? What's going on. You know. Somethings wrong with this picture?!

The only reason he is thought to be of any greatness is because he was practically in bed with the government from the beginning anyway and propaganda of the military industrial complex can do the rest, right? Like evil supports whatever is useful to evil basically... And they needed some kind of lame muppet head to overshadow the real well intentioned genius. You know the real deal. The real works. Not the fake lets electrocute the elephant and control peoples minds coward. Not the lets steal what is useful for profit making and destroy what frees people tyrant.

Then you have strange specimens like wendylove trying to put down telsa and say he made claims but never put his money where his mouth is. That's bullshit. He did more than you'll ever do and most of it is not even known because it was destroyed.

And then saying Edison did the right thing and saved a child one time did he? What the hell? That's really moving Wendy. And irrelevant. Besides, weigh that up and consider how many lives has he ruined in addition to that drop in the bucket! A few thousand million lives ruined....Including Childrens lives...Every time you pay an electricity bill that takes away your prosperity and quality of life. We can all think of Edison the so called 'Hero'. While your congratulating yourself eating the popcorn. Wait a minute.....what about this greater crime that goes unsolved. Something wrong with this.....Edison equals a maniac not a hero.....

Aquanina is right. Edison is a coward for trying to deceive the public and fighting Teslas inventions that would have made the earth an entirely different place for the better should such technology be distributed. Anyone that steals someones inventions and work has not much conscience.

I don't know if anyone has read anything here by Linda Goodman. She supposedly ended up buying this house that was thought to be where Tesla stayed. There is much more to that story than that but if you really want to know. You can read it. I think it's called Linda Goodman star signs or something. I found it interesting anyway.

      Free energy? Destroying people lives?

Yes, Edison killed a few animals, however thats progress baby. Seriously, we need animal testing and electricity is a good justification for killing a few animals.

Tesla had a vision to provide free energy for all. This was bad business. Where's the money in free energy? This is why he was so persecuted and discredited and no one has a clue who he is these days. It's disgusting really.
Also, what all this free energy, come on, Tesla claimed he made a machine that could cause earthquarkes.

Where is Tesla. Hardly no mention compared to Edison.
Tesla sucks, that why he is not mention.

He did that. It wasn't an earthquake machine, but something similar. Apparently he almost brought a building in construction down using resonance with a small vibrating thingy.
Don't say Tesla sucks. That's a very ignorant and stupid thing to say.
I don't know how it is in America, but I think that everybody here has at least heard of Tesla before. Perhaps because he is a Serb, so he is "mentioned". Ironically I don't know much about Edison.

Yes he did make that machine, and almost made a building collapse before they stopped him. Tesla was...to say genius really doesn't even cut it.

Bonsay, every child in America grows up learning that Thomas Edison invented the lightbulb. The name Tesla is never even mentioned. Not for radio, or remote control, or neon lights, or any of the other hundreds of things he invented that make our world what it is today.

I had never even heard the name Tesla before seeing the movie The Prestige. Great movie btw. It sparked my interest. And after that I wanted to learn more about Tesla...but what I discovered really made my jaw hit the floor.

However, it does seem that people are finally waking up and realizing how important this man was. (As they are now making documentaries about him on National Geographic and such)

So again...his quote was entirely true...“Let the future tell the truth, and evaluate each one according to his work and accomplishments. The present is theirs; the future, for which I have really worked, is mine.”

I think we will continue to learn more about Tesla, and eventually I think people will know his name more than Edison's. As they should.

I always liked Tesla, he struck out to me in history because he had such a small mention but appeared so profound so I researched him more and discovered more about him. He reminded me of Huey Long, he scared FDR so much FDR had to enact more radical changes in the New Deal for his second term so Long wouldn't take his votes. Long could be considered the father of social security, but my history book just bashes the fuck out of him.

That's a much smaller scale to how I felt about Tesla. History always taught me Edison pretty much ushered in the modern age. I mean, technically Benjamin Franklin was the first to harness electricity anyway so what did Edison ever really do? He made a glass bulb with a few circuits in it. Furthermore, Tesla was always alluded to as the archetype for mad scientists like Dr. Frankenstein.

But hearing about like... his ideas split up an sent to different governments made me want to go on adventure to find the lost inventions.

Also, have you guys heard the conspiracy theory the government's using cellphone towers to control people's minds?

Everything works out in the end, sometimes even badly.

Exactly. He's the "mad scientist" lol.

But my favorite story is the one about the Chicago World Fair.

Edison and Tesla were both bidding to win the lighting of the Chicago World Fair in 1893. Tesla won and Edison was so ticked off he wouldn't allow Tesla to buy or use ANY of his lightbulbs, so Tesla created his own lightbulb and used that to illuminate the world fair. I just think that is like, the ultimate hero story haha.

How sad is it that until this point I'd assumed Tesla looked like David Bowie?

The life story of Tesla is very interesting indeed, I read his autobiography, which stresses lucid dreaming as the best way of invention. But it makes you question howcome, if the technology is still available, nobody reproduces it? These are concepts he came up with 100 years ago, isn't about time someone put some work in it? Seems like the human race suddenly got too lazy to put some time into invention? It's easy to blame Edison or blame ignorance but it seems much like right at this moment, even with the knowledge available, nobody will even try to work out his theories.

Anyway, the most interesting thing about Tesla imo was his ability to create inventions to perfection in his lucid dreams.

I think that any further work being done based on Tesla's ideas and inventions is not known to the public. As the videos hinted, they believe that some countries have already made Tesla's "death ray" and other's have the capability to. Who can possibly know what the US government is working on right now.
