That was a great speech (just posted it on my myspace bulletins).
I've been following this philosophy for a long time. Why just sit back and enjoy the works of others? That's why I have so many hobbies - which is almost considerable as a 'fault,' when trying to keep up with the rest of the responsibilities that come with juggling the things you want to do and keeping up with the rest of society.
But yeah, if you are interested in something, go for it. Don't just be satisfied with having people entertain you. Contribute to the artform. Contribute to the sport. DO what you love. Don't just sit around and marvel at other people who do it.
As of right now, I'm pretty much set on things that I immediately want to learn, because I already have a hand in most of them (though I'm still waiting to be able to start martial arts again). There are plenty of other things that I want to do, but I'm pretty much at capacity for learning (and retaining) new things at the moment. Heh.
