It seems that there are too many who claim a complete ignorance of what standards have done for the promotion of civilization. Or even what one is talking about. I find this rather odd.

I fail to see how anyone can claim a knowledge of good and evil, yet unaware of any standard by which to determine it.

No. Human experiences are subjective, and rely on our upbringing and societal norms. Therefore, there can fairly be no answers that can be held as dogmatic truth. As rational human beings, we're left to figure out the best way for everyone to get along.

I would argue that conventional morality rooted in religious or historic reasons (ie: woman must be virgins) is unnecessary and can even cause harm toward members of a society. I believe in "live and let live" because people have the right to do what they want with their lives, without outside interference. As long as no one's rights are being infringed upon, I don't see how it's anyone else's business.

Take a blind person for example, they phsycially have eyes, yet they are not functional.

In my perfect world...people would actually take care of the children they took care of. The perfect world would be very sad to see all the "free love and sex" but without responsible parents to back it up.
