I think medical marijuana could help my mom

My mom has arthritis, back pain, and almost daily migraines. She's tried all the pills the doctors said would help, none of them did anything for her. Medical marijuana is legal here, and I think it could help her. The problem is that she believes all the lies about it. She thinks it's a dangerous addictive gateway drug that causes cancer and kills brain cells. I think it's the only thing left that could help her, what can I do?

You can plead with her sensibilities and try to demonstrate to her the benefits, including the fact that the government allows medical marijuana to exist. Clearly it can't be all bad if it can be prescribed for so many conditions.

Look up the history of medical marijuana and help her to be informed.

It sounds like your mom might be able to get relief from some of her conditions by way of medical marijuana.

One of the common misconceptions with medical marijuana is that you have to smoke it. In fact, it is quite the opposite. Most places that actually sell marijuana for medical and therapeutic applications will have a range of products - not just pot and hash for a pipe/bong/joint.

You may want to recommend a tincture or salve that she could rub into her joints which are sore and inflamed from her arthritis, and you might recommend she try eating a pot cookie or brownie for her headaches and back pain. Many people just don't like smoking, and there's nothing wrong with that, plus, smoking for a health condition is sort of a paradox. In my opinion, if people really are taking marijuana medically, most of the time smoking it shouldn't be part of the therapy.

I would also recommend that your mother seek massage therapy for her conditions. I was a massage therapist for years and treated all of the conditions you mentioned. Massage is particularly helpful with migraines and back pain.

Anyway, if you're really convinced that medical marijuana is the way to go there are lots of applications outside of the "dope fiend" paradigm that society would like most people to despise. I wish your mother the best of health.

The first link is full of information, and the documentary will help her realize that marijuana isn't as scary as it's made out to be.

The problem is getting her to watch it. If she does, I think it should convince her that it isn't bad.

Sit her down and show her a good documentary with lots of scientific proof/facts. Also keep bringing it up and make jokes about it so eventually she'll stop seeing it as a negative thing. That's what I did anyway

      Good luck bro!
