      Fighting experiences in dreams ?

Lately ive been fighting a lot in my dreams. Sometimes I completely beat the shit out of people, but other times I'll get jumped and can't even stand a chance. When I do fight it feels weird, like im not fighting to the best of my abilities I think 0.0 Or some other strange feeling that I cant really remember. I was just wondering who else has fought in their dreams and experienced something like me or unlike me ?

Everytime I fight in dreams its like I'm punching in slow motion and can't hit the person. But I have yet to fight in a lucid dream, but I'd imagine I will be a to punch
Every passing minute is another chance to turn it all around.

I had a dragon ball z dream a few times in my life, they are the best!!! my most recent fighting dream I ws fighing two people and holding my own pretty well, we were pretty evenly matched though then i got hit really hard and then i got pissed and said "you think you can beat me?!?" then i created a ball of energy in my hand and threw it down near both of my opponents feet and then we flew around fighting like they do in DBZ. it was awsome!!

fighting is in slow-mo for me, i can do damage, but it doesn't feel like it, like a will hit someones head against a wall, it doesn't feel powerful, feels quite slow, but it still knocks them out, All in non-lucid, haven't been able to fight in LD yet......
They say dreaming is dead, no one does it anymore.
It's not dead it's just that it's been forgotten, removed from our language.
Nobody teaches it so nobody knows it exists.
The dreamer is banished to obscurity.
Well, I'm trying to change all that, and I hope you are too.
      By dreaming, every day.

Well, as cool as these dreams seem, they are attempting to tell you something. These dreams are trying to tell you that you are fighting against an aspect of yourself, and that that aspect is causing issues in your life, and within your personality. I suggest you try to figure out what it is that these symbols represent.

I love fighting in dreams. I've done some really cool, realistic, and stylized stuff before.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

You should take a look in my journal sometime...Lol...

Seriously, though. I fight in my dreams A Lot. For some reason, a large majority of my dreams are somewhat violent. Like proxide, I think my love for (and practice of) martial arts just makes it so prevalent in my dreams. Fighting while lucid is one of my favorite things to do, and usually I have more than enough nasty, shit-starting characters in my dreams to keep me occupied. As in waking life, I never really fight anyone who wasn't asking for it.

When I was younger, I always used to have the problem of feeling like I'm punching in slow-mo, or underwater. One of the things I figured out is that, if you're lucid, it's best to just imagine your attack hitting the target - not traveling toward your target. I deduce that you give your subconscious too much opportunity to anticipate the possibility of your missing the target. Having that moment to think about missing it, unfortunately, causes you to be more likely to miss. This kind of mirrors waking life, and as a martial artist, I'm sure you can agree. When you think about accomplishing a technique, you tend to trip yourself up. When you don't think about it, and just do it, you seem to be at your most successful. Am I right?

It's the same thing when you're dreaming. Just imagine the impact(s). "Visualize the goal" as some might say. This might help you the most, while you are lucid.

Learning to do that while you're non-lucid, though, could be a bit harder. You'll have to ask yourself deeper questions - I think - like; how do you feel about hitting someone? I tend to make a clear distinction between hitting someone in a spar, and having to hit someone in an actual altercation. Do you feel the same way? Why do you think your mind might be seeming to steer you away from hitting someone? Are these characters people who have actually pushed you to fighting? Or are you going around looking for a fight?

      Stuff like that.

I used to have many fighting dreams when I was a teenager, that was years ago though. The main reason I know I had them was due to a very strange occurrence in these dream. My punches had almost no impact at all, it wasn't like slow motion. I gave a full on punch but the impact felt like small tap on the opponents face. I think the result in most dreams was that I ended up getting pulverized and then I would wake up doubting myself. I was doing martial arts at the time and these dreams probably stemmed from my insecurity about wondering if I could knock someone out.

I also have many fight dreams, but mostly are knife fighting, i just love it. There is a lot of guns too.

I don't think it is a bad thing at all. For me it happens because i came from a military family, i have a lot of knives, some guns and I play a damn lot of videogames. As was said before, it is apart of me.

Yeah pretty much everyone I know experiences the slow-motion/underwater/no force hitting thing during dreaming. But on the upside, if you can keep fighting in dreams like this you will become used to dealing less damage, so in a real fight you freaking BEAST (:
