Ok, so I'e been doing a technique for 2 days now, called Project Sanctuary. Its pretty cool, and I've been learning loads about the neurosis of my dreaming mind LOL. In any case, It has really helped my dream recall. Usually, in order to remember dreams, I have to do the mantras, meditation, the whole Tibetan dream exercise stuff....yuck. But, from doing this Project Sanctuary stuff, I recalled two dreams, in much better detail, increased vividity, increased realism, from a very deep sleep stage. I even recalled my thoughts during the dream. The thing that made me tie the two together, was how once I began waking up more, I started to confuse the events together, just as what happens in whenever I go to my Sanctuary from a supremely awake state of consciousness. And the whole deal with Project Sanctuary is...its mental work. Its really fun, but to make it fun takes mental concentration, determination, thought, focus, and the capacity to learn and drop all previous thoughts about the dream world. Now...as for lucidity, I can't comment on that quite yet. But it looks like this is a veritable technique to increase dream recall. At times, I have even noticed that it becomes difficult to remember Project Sanctuary experiences, almost as if they were dream experiences, and that by remembering them, or image streaming them, it helps to remember them. In any case, I am going to delve into this much further. If anyone wants the pdf file, contact me, and I'll send it to you. Here's a link that describes it in a nutshell. |

All of experience is fun for me, whether in a dream, or in reality, because I love existing, learning, and continuously evolving and sustaining. Then again, who knows, I may not enjoy existing so much if I caught a face full of buckshot from an angry farmer. But hey, at least I'd got out with a bang.

Your actually the person I got it from LOL. As for specifics, yes I do a couple things. One is that I talk to my Emissaries, and ask them questions. I asked them how I could lucid dream more, and I get good answers. They say start with dream recall, and practice Sanctuary building and making it more vivid, and being more conscious in the Sanctuary. What's really funny is that the connection is DEFINITELY there because in my lucid dream last night, I ran into this book called The Mysteries of the Sanctuary LOL. The text was extremely stable, but I was semi-lucid and obsessed with getting to the Akashkic records. But it was basically a HUGE pointer from my SC saying, "Yes it works, use it more". Another thing that I've noticed is that you need to really push mentally with your visions and senses to perceive the Sanctuary. Be fearless in it, and learn to discern your fantasies with what is actually occuring in the Sanctuary( Usually fantasies are insubstantial, and flit around a lot, mirroring your thoughts, while the Sanctuary is more stable and requires a bit more conscious push. I also throw in a Reality check while I'm in the Sanctuary every now and then, for kicks. But it is real...like I look for to my mineral bath in my Sanctuary to help rejuvenate my body haha. And it works, when you concentrate on the Sanctuary. The best way is to develop a sharp transition from WL to the Sanctuary, accompanied with a breath, and a conceptual direction. My Emissary doesn't want me to expose what they taught me for some odd reason... but I will Act in Accord. I also looked around for blocks to lucidity, and ask my Em to take me to them, and resolved them. I have a guy working on better vividity in a work shop, and he's made my dreams SUPER real lol. The thing you must understand is that you are working in your own mind, so defer to the subconscious most of the time decision wise, because its usually to maintain the bodies health( I'm suffering poor health because of my pushing to lucid dream more lol). Whenever the Emissaries advise you to do something in the physical....DO IT. Meet them more them halfway, show them your earnest to develop the connection, and they will teach you more because you will need to know more to enhance it. A master isn't going to teach a dunce the secrets of the universe, and if your going to misuse something, and you have a strong moral complex in your mind, then your subconscious won't teach it to you, or any emissaries that come from it. |

Hah, I thought that might have been more than mere coincidence... still glad to see you've benefited from it! I thought your experiences were awesome, and I do thank you for sharing them, but I guess I wasn't clear. What I meant to ask was, what do you do to get into Sanctuary in the first place? I can never reach that imaginative mindset. Heck, I rarely even fantasize or daydream! So it makes it kinda hard to get anywhere... xD Thanks for your time. |

Hmm very interesting I think I'll read your link. Any tips for a beginner? |

First- get the pdf called Project Sanctuary 3. Pm me for it, and I'll send it to your email. Read it. |

Yeah, I know all this stuff, and I have the pdf. But... I guess there's a jump being knowing intellectually, and being able to do something, that'll only come with lots of practice. The only sense I could begin to count on is hearing (I get songs stuck in my head all the time, haha). The rest might as well not be there at all. I don't even get hypnagogic imagery... I guess that's why dreaming fascinates me, because I SEE that creativity that seems so far off during the day. |
|
Yah the jump is experientially learning...It fun, but its also work. The work is recognizing when you begin to snowball thoughts, rather than actually working in the Sanctuary. Also, its being able to discern the various types of stimuli coming to you. A technique called Image Streaming drastically increases your ability to "see" with your minds eye. look it up. Also, if you watch a lot of TV, stop, because that impairs your ability to visualize. If you watched a lot of TV when you were a kid, then your like me, and its really hard to see shit in your mind. Close your eyes more throughout the day, and try to see your environment. Get out in nature, stop watching all forms of television. Its difficult, but necessary. We really don't need to watch anything, because we can use our imagination to fill in a good picture of the environment, or just RV whats happening. Anyhow, last night I was viewing the mental blocks towards being able to see things better in my mind, and holy shit there was a ton. So basically I asked an emissary to use magic to help me see better, and she did her best, but suddenly massive amounts of walls got between her and I, and she couldn't penetrate them. They had descriptions on the side of them(which I asked her to read them to me) and there were tons. Like "fear of delusion", "fear of paranoia", a lot of fear blocks, and also a huge one from watching the television. It was massive, and solid. And to remove them I had to be really creative, and the television can only be slowly worn away by practice-and not watching it LOL. And the fear blocks can pop back up. But basically, all my people treat me like the blind dude at times( is really funny). They take my hand, and lead me places. At times I get glimpses of what is their, and then I have to infer the rest. Mentally fatiguing. The first time I did the Sanctuary I did it for an hour, and I got a headache, and a vast amount of experience out of it. I then did it 4 more times that day, learning more and more. Now I know a crap ton, and I think I am going to go over it. I feel the procrastination from doing it, as if its something I like doing, but have that initial static friction towards actually doing it, when all I have to do is move in my mind, which tells me its actually work(I'm a bit lazy lol when it comes to that initial push, I tend to dwell on it for to long, when your supposed to nip it in the bud, and just DO). You just have to initiate willpower. Ok, so I'm rambling because I'm supposed to be in my Sanctuary now(its that time of day) learning...but I'm procrastinating LOL. Hope this helps. |

Oh- and when I don't do it a lot, I don't have the crazy real dreams, with the crazy recall, and the lucidity- so a definite tie between it. |

Whoa, this sounds really interesting! But I'm a little confused too... Is this directly related to dreaming? |

I saw your posts in both threads Raspberry, so I'll answer your questions here. |
|
I tried it a bit last night, and this morning, but... I dunno. It's really hard to get into the right frame of mind. Anyways, my "sanctuary" is a rotting wood shack with rock walls placed over two of the sides, and extending over the top. Why? Who knows... I figure it's some sort of "protection" but I'm trying to resist that urge to interpret. The landscape looks pretty barren too... I made a very rough drawing of it, but... I'm an awful artist. And the picture is just bad. Oh well... |
|
Thank you for answering my questions I'm still interested and I'm going to continueing to research. In fact, this actually sounds quite like something I used to do when I was about 6 years old. I used to visualise Spyro the dragon in my head and take him to worlds and have awesome adventures. Then I created other dragons etc. I got so good at it that it didn't seem imagined at all. |
|
It may be a place that needs some work. I had to do a ton of work on my Sanctuary, and I still do, especially if I don't use it. It definitely makes dream much more real. And I just did a WILD earlier this morning(couldn't hold onto it cause I was too tired). I think the Sanctuary mirrors your thoughts on your visualization ability...no offense. I had to really consciously push, and do a variety of other tasks to increase my ability to perceive what was going on. Its not a passive thing...you have to be aggressive in it. And be very aware when you lose focus and go on a rambling thought. I've noticed that I can actually go into a day dream while in the Sanctuary, and nothing happened to the Sanctuary. Once you make it real, it is there. Fix up your wood shed, who knows, maybe theres a basement. I should prolly make a pic of mine as well and post it up, Ill do that today or tomorrow. In all reality...the Sanctuary, once you work up your ability to see or hear, is the perfect place to study, and you can talk to your Emissary to help you with ideas on anything!! But it is work. It's fun to do, but after a long time I get dizzy from the concentration. I consider it an awesome alternative to watching TV or playing video games. |

That's really cool Raspberry! I wish I had that kind of experience, even if I couldn't do it now. Of course, I can hardly remember most of my childhood... >.> Both of you are right about it changing, I hope. I picked it because usually when I tried this in the past, I came up with the beach. It was obvious I consciously made that though. So when I saw something I didn't expect, I kinda went with it, ugly or not. Hard work, huh, I don't like hard work much. Maybe that's part of the problem. xD |
|
Yeah it was pretty cool. I just have no idea how to get started with this kind of thing. When I visualise something it's always in third person, which is kind of awkward considering this is first person. Although after I heard about this the next day I tried visualising myself flying and after a few minutes I was walking around school with this stupid smile on my face and everyone was wondering what I was so happy about |
|
Hey everyone, thanks a lot for posting and sharing! |
|
Thats when you have to learn how to, as it was told to me, to "shut the f$%k up and listen". Lol. Its where you learn how to control your conscious mind, which takes willpower, and listen. At first, the thoughts will come as if they are from you, but you will learn to discern what comes from you, and what comes from...somewhere else. All it takes is excitation of the neurological circuits, and experiential learning. It takes a bit of focus and concentration to shut the conscious mind up, but it is well worth it, for the knowledge you gain. |

So, one of the things that the author advocates is using "contracts" with your energy mind above and beyond just visiting your Sanctuary. That only goes so far, anyways. And I had an interesting little experience with it last night. I couldn't focus on my Sanctuary at all, so I had a contract along the lines of "Show me something that will prove this [Project Sanctuary] to me." I found myself in a nightclub talking to a nice, but flirty woman, and we ended up talking about something which was the farthest thing from my mind at the time. So, I suppose that's some proof. I really don't think about these scenarios at all usually. I'm not really your average guy. xD |
|
Thanks for all your tips! I gave it a shot and this time I created my sanctuary while I was tired in the afternoon. Before I tried this exercise I always thought I'd create a nice beach like the ones in Thailand, but the landscape turned out completely different. |
|
My Sanctuary is in a desert. It's summer, and the sun is near blinding. I'm in a large sandy, square area, which large black and gold walls enclose. In the middle is my "dwelling" which is a black and gold marble building. The middle has two floors and the sides (that stick out) have one. I've only been inside the left side (which I basically slide a lever across and push the door. Then I go down some steps, and there's a bed against one wall and crooked wooden table and chairs beside it with a lamp). So I don't know what the rest of the building contains. On top of the building is one of the wooden things from Assassin's Creed that are on the viewpoints. I sit there and stare out over the sand dunes. |

You're welcome Raspberry! Glad I could help. ^^ Transitioning back to college life has left me too busy for the past few days to practice, sadly. Plus I think I'm coming down with something. I really hope to get back into it soon though. |
|
Test it out is my say on the matter. You can never know if something works...until you test it. I think thats a great way. Make sure you get the model right. Heck, I'll do it as well. You could prolly do abstract stuff, like writing down a name of a person, and then put= and write a blurb about how you want them in your life as well. Or personal transformations. Its a good idea. |

Thanks guys. Singularity, I recommend green tea, it always gets rid of stuff for me I've just had prelims so I've been busy too. But now I'm back to routine |

It's a very cool idea and I know I probably missed something when I ask this question but, how do u get there? |
