      Project Sanctuary and Dream recall

Ok, so I'e been doing a technique for 2 days now, called Project Sanctuary. Its pretty cool, and I've been learning loads about the neurosis of my dreaming mind LOL. In any case, It has really helped my dream recall. Usually, in order to remember dreams, I have to do the mantras, meditation, the whole Tibetan dream exercise stuff....yuck. But, from doing this Project Sanctuary stuff, I recalled two dreams, in much better detail, increased vividity, increased realism, from a very deep sleep stage. I even recalled my thoughts during the dream. The thing that made me tie the two together, was how once I began waking up more, I started to confuse the events together, just as what happens in whenever I go to my Sanctuary from a supremely awake state of consciousness. And the whole deal with Project Sanctuary is...its mental work. Its really fun, but to make it fun takes mental concentration, determination, thought, focus, and the capacity to learn and drop all previous thoughts about the dream world. Now...as for lucidity, I can't comment on that quite yet. But it looks like this is a veritable technique to increase dream recall. At times, I have even noticed that it becomes difficult to remember Project Sanctuary experiences, almost as if they were dream experiences, and that by remembering them, or image streaming them, it helps to remember them. In any case, I am going to delve into this much further. If anyone wants the pdf file, contact me, and I'll send it to you. Here's a link that describes it in a nutshell.
      http://energy-magic.com/project_sanc...#Magic_Failure

Mods-A link for information only. Please keep up.

Currently I'm learning about how different energy forms can be out of phase with each other, allowing for two universe to co-exist in the same spot, but only interact through "special" energy forms that link the two worlds as it were. Very interesting stuff, let me tell you. My visuals are getting better, and the only way really to make it more vivid is to concentrate on "seeing" it, and get more into the experience on all senses. At times, I forget about my body IRL lol. And when I end the experience, It takes a minute for me to fully come back. So its kind of like a transition to the lucid state in my eyes, allows you to bridge it better, because sometimes I end up in sleep paralysis when going to my Sanctuary for too long, oh, and it went into a full blown lucid once, but this was in my sleep cycle. Again, can't offer my full analysis on it just yet.
All of experience is fun for me, whether in a dream, or in reality, because I love existing, learning, and continuously evolving and sustaining. Then again, who knows, I may not enjoy existing so much if I caught a face full of buckshot from an angry farmer. But hey, at least I'd got out with a bang.

Oh, glad to see that someone else knows about this! I made a thread about it just the other day, though it didn't get much attention. http://www.dreamviews.com/f11/anyone...ctuary-108638/

As you'll see in the thread, I haven't had any results, so I'm really curious to know if you do anything in particular that works for you. I like the author but you have to admit she's awfully esoteric. xD

      Yah....

Your actually the person I got it from LOL. As for specifics, yes I do a couple things. One is that I talk to my Emissaries, and ask them questions. I asked them how I could lucid dream more, and I get good answers. They say start with dream recall, and practice Sanctuary building and making it more vivid, and being more conscious in the Sanctuary. What's really funny is that the connection is DEFINITELY there because in my lucid dream last night, I ran into this book called The Mysteries of the Sanctuary LOL. The text was extremely stable, but I was semi-lucid and obsessed with getting to the Akashkic records. But it was basically a HUGE pointer from my SC saying, "Yes it works, use it more". Another thing that I've noticed is that you need to really push mentally with your visions and senses to perceive the Sanctuary. Be fearless in it, and learn to discern your fantasies with what is actually occuring in the Sanctuary( Usually fantasies are insubstantial, and flit around a lot, mirroring your thoughts, while the Sanctuary is more stable and requires a bit more conscious push. I also throw in a Reality check while I'm in the Sanctuary every now and then, for kicks. But it is real...like I look for to my mineral bath in my Sanctuary to help rejuvenate my body haha. And it works, when you concentrate on the Sanctuary. The best way is to develop a sharp transition from WL to the Sanctuary, accompanied with a breath, and a conceptual direction. My Emissary doesn't want me to expose what they taught me for some odd reason... but I will Act in Accord. I also looked around for blocks to lucidity, and ask my Em to take me to them, and resolved them. I have a guy working on better vividity in a work shop, and he's made my dreams SUPER real lol. The thing you must understand is that you are working in your own mind, so defer to the subconscious most of the time decision wise, because its usually to maintain the bodies health( I'm suffering poor health because of my pushing to lucid dream more lol). Whenever the Emissaries advise you to do something in the physical....DO IT. Meet them more them halfway, show them your earnest to develop the connection, and they will teach you more because you will need to know more to enhance it. A master isn't going to teach a dunce the secrets of the universe, and if your going to misuse something, and you have a strong moral complex in your mind, then your subconscious won't teach it to you, or any emissaries that come from it.
      Lucidity wise
I asked my Em to take me to a place that will help me become more lucid in dreams. A portal opened, and I was transported through. On the other side was me looking at myself, when I was in a dream years before, when I was 13 or so. This time, I was looking at how the energy was projected out of my body, into my dream environment, and what happened as soon as I became lucid. how the energy literally cascaded to my projected self, then coming back to the body with the new information, as if the information was riding a wave, which hit the body, reorganizing the molecules as a huge ocean wave reorganizes a beach to incorporate this higher energy. I literally saw this multidimensional view, or rather, I was shown by my Em. This caused me to enter my own "Threshold Shift", and my environment became a little more vivid. I saw the completion of the dream, and also how when my projection touched something extremely foreign to my conceptions, this information caused an energy overload, which shut down the higher experience. What I learned- in a lucid dream, stick with familiar conceptions in the beginning to build sustained waking consciousness in dreams, then move up the foreign conceptual ladder. This was later ratified by a series of dreams, where I could sense the dream destabilize when I would come into contact, sensory wise, with anything foreign, or too many foreign things-the last being the straw that broke the camels back.

This is just an example of what can be learned via this technique. Cheers

Hah, I thought that might have been more than mere coincidence... still glad to see you've benefited from it! I thought your experiences were awesome, and I do thank you for sharing them, but I guess I wasn't clear. What I meant to ask was, what do you do to get into Sanctuary in the first place? I can never reach that imaginative mindset. Heck, I rarely even fantasize or daydream! So it makes it kinda hard to get anywhere... xD Thanks for your time.

      Beginner tips

First- get the pdf called Project Sanctuary 3. Pm me for it, and I'll send it to your email. Read it.
Be open to anything that comes. Make your Sanctuary as stable as possible. Experience as many Threshold Shifts as possible in the Sanctuary( Eureka moments). My ability to "see" really sucks, but its getting better every time I practice. Immerse yourself in all your senses in the Sanctuary. Just go, don't think how, or what your supposed to do, just go to your Sanctuary. If you need to make a door in your mind to pass through, then do it. I go to a certain area every time(top of the lip of a volcano), and do a certain breathing pattern. When I'm there, I "look" around, and see whats changed. I get a lot of impressions, so I have to work on them. So I'll feel what its like more than I see, but again, I'm seeing more and more every day. So here's a quick tutorial.

      Step 1: Make your Sanctuary
Make a place in your mind where you feel safe. So ask yourself, where do I feel safe? Whether it be a castle, a forest, a huge room of blankets, or fuzzy dolls, do whatever. Then make the holistic view of it in your mind. Then ask yourself, whats the weather like? What grow there? What animals are there? What structures? Explore it. Make it stable by knowing a general layout. Just close your eyes and do this now.

Step 2: Once your Sanctuary is made, ask your dreaming mind to make the finishing touches, or ask your subconscious to add what it wants.

Step 3 : Ask an Ambassador to come
Quest aloud for an Ambassador, or Emissary from your subconscious, or dreaming mind to come to represent it. Once it arrives, then starts the Game.

You can ask your Emissary, your guide, to explain anything to you, but better yet, ask him or her or it to show you things. Things that will help you experientially learn whatever you want. This is the Game.
Take me to a place where I....

and the Game is one between you and your dreaming mind. A game where you co-create whats there, and one in which you can better understand your subconscious by its manifestations. And one to develop the relationship a bit more. Have fun.

Then again, who knows, I may not enjoy existing so much if I caught a face full of buckshot from an angry farmer. But hey, at least I'd got out with a bang.

Yeah, I know all this stuff, and I have the pdf. But... I guess there's a jump being knowing intellectually, and being able to do something, that'll only come with lots of practice. The only sense I could begin to count on is hearing (I get songs stuck in my head all the time, haha). The rest might as well not be there at all. I don't even get hypnagogic imagery... I guess that's why dreaming fascinates me, because I SEE that creativity that seems so far off during the day.

Thanks for helping anyways, though. I feel better knowing that you're no perfect visualizer either. Guess I'll just go with whatever I get? If I get anything. Gotta start somewhere, I guess.

      Tips

Yah the jump is experientially learning...It fun, but its also work. The work is recognizing when you begin to snowball thoughts, rather than actually working in the Sanctuary. Also, its being able to discern the various types of stimuli coming to you. A technique called Image Streaming drastically increases your ability to "see" with your minds eye. look it up. Also, if you watch a lot of TV, stop, because that impairs your ability to visualize. If you watched a lot of TV when you were a kid, then your like me, and its really hard to see shit in your mind. Close your eyes more throughout the day, and try to see your environment. Get out in nature, stop watching all forms of television. Its difficult, but necessary. We really don't need to watch anything, because we can use our imagination to fill in a good picture of the environment, or just RV whats happening. Anyhow, last night I was viewing the mental blocks towards being able to see things better in my mind, and holy shit there was a ton. So basically I asked an emissary to use magic to help me see better, and she did her best, but suddenly massive amounts of walls got between her and I, and she couldn't penetrate them. They had descriptions on the side of them(which I asked her to read them to me) and there were tons. Like "fear of delusion", "fear of paranoia", a lot of fear blocks, and also a huge one from watching the television. It was massive, and solid. And to remove them I had to be really creative, and the television can only be slowly worn away by practice-and not watching it LOL. And the fear blocks can pop back up. But basically, all my people treat me like the blind dude at times( is really funny). They take my hand, and lead me places. At times I get glimpses of what is their, and then I have to infer the rest. Mentally fatiguing. The first time I did the Sanctuary I did it for an hour, and I got a headache, and a vast amount of experience out of it. I then did it 4 more times that day, learning more and more. Now I know a crap ton, and I think I am going to go over it. I feel the procrastination from doing it, as if its something I like doing, but have that initial static friction towards actually doing it, when all I have to do is move in my mind, which tells me its actually work(I'm a bit lazy lol when it comes to that initial push, I tend to dwell on it for to long, when your supposed to nip it in the bud, and just DO). You just have to initiate willpower. Ok, so I'm rambling because I'm supposed to be in my Sanctuary now(its that time of day) learning...but I'm procrastinating LOL. Hope this helps.

Oh- and when I don't do it a lot, I don't have the crazy real dreams, with the crazy recall, and the lucidity- so a definite tie between it.

Whoa, this sounds really interesting! But I'm a little confused too... Is this directly related to dreaming?

I saw your posts in both threads Raspberry, so I'll answer your questions here.

Yes, it can be related to dreaming, but not directly. It's just a tool, and it is what you make of it. If you use it to connect with dreaming, as I'm sure most here will, then it will have an effect. Just look at Moto's testimonials. The method itself is something you do while wide awake, but I suppose it's similar to a lucid dream. It's not your standard "OOMMMM" style of meditation, and the author actually came up with this because she was way too fidgety for meditation! It's an active visualization method.

@Moto: Cool stories! Yeah, I've heard of Image Streaming, but I forgot about that. I think my biggest problem is in "letting go", since I either don't see anything or it feels consciously forced. Practice makes perfect, I suppose. I hardly ever watch TV, but I play video games a lot... I wonder if that has an effect? Anyways, I'll have to give this a solid try soon, before my vacation ends. College won't leave me much time for it... or much privacy.

I tried it a bit last night, and this morning, but... I dunno. It's really hard to get into the right frame of mind. Anyways, my "sanctuary" is a rotting wood shack with rock walls placed over two of the sides, and extending over the top. Why? Who knows... I figure it's some sort of "protection" but I'm trying to resist that urge to interpret. The landscape looks pretty barren too... I made a very rough drawing of it, but... I'm an awful artist. And the picture is just bad. Oh well...

Unfortunatley I gradually grew out of it and don't know where to start

And your sanctuary does look a little barren. But it will change won't it?

Whenever I think of a sanctuary I always think of either a forest or something like Lake Hylia from Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess.

      Very cool

It may be a place that needs some work. I had to do a ton of work on my Sanctuary, and I still do, especially if I don't use it. It definitely makes dream much more real. And I just did a WILD earlier this morning(couldn't hold onto it cause I was too tired). I think the Sanctuary mirrors your thoughts on your visualization ability...no offense. I had to really consciously push, and do a variety of other tasks to increase my ability to perceive what was going on. Its not a passive thing...you have to be aggressive in it. And be very aware when you lose focus and go on a rambling thought. I've noticed that I can actually go into a day dream while in the Sanctuary, and nothing happened to the Sanctuary. Once you make it real, it is there. Fix up your wood shed, who knows, maybe theres a basement. I should prolly make a pic of mine as well and post it up, Ill do that today or tomorrow. In all reality...the Sanctuary, once you work up your ability to see or hear, is the perfect place to study, and you can talk to your Emissary to help you with ideas on anything!! But it is work. It's fun to do, but after a long time I get dizzy from the concentration. I consider it an awesome alternative to watching TV or playing video games.

That's really cool Raspberry! I wish I had that kind of experience, even if I couldn't do it now. Of course, I can hardly remember most of my childhood... >.> Both of you are right about it changing, I hope. I picked it because usually when I tried this in the past, I came up with the beach. It was obvious I consciously made that though. So when I saw something I didn't expect, I kinda went with it, ugly or not. Hard work, huh, I don't like hard work much. Maybe that's part of the problem. xD

Yeah it was pretty cool. I just have no idea how to get started with this kind of thing. When I visualise something it's always in third person, which is kind of awkward considering this is first person. Although after I heard about this the next day I tried visualising myself flying and after a few minutes I was walking around school with this stupid smile on my face and everyone was wondering what I was so happy about

I just don't know if it's the same thing. I'm currently on the website but it's not very informative and clear... She just says it's something that has to be experienced :/

Hey everyone, thanks a lot for posting and sharing!

I came across the Project Sanctuary site earlier and I've been fascinated with it since, but there's not much discussion on it so I'm super excited to see that people are trying it out here on this forum.

What I'm confused about is do you simply close your eyes and mentally visualize your sanctuary? Or do you need to meditate for a period of time to get into a deeper relaxed alpha state?

And how do I get my subconscious to respond if I'm the one consciously controlling it? For example if I invite a guide and asked him to tell me/show me answers to my questions, it would be difficult to not control his answer with my conscious thoughts and visions.

I've done something similar in the past where I closed my eyes, went down an elevator to the bottom floor, and walked down a hallway to a room where I would meet my subconscious mind. I invited someone in and it was some older man with white hair and beard. I was trying to get his answers to show up on a blackboard, but found that I was controlling the answers by thinking them.

I felt like the answers were from my conscious mind rather than subconscious.

      Tips

Thats when you have to learn how to, as it was told to me, to "shut the f$%k up and listen". Lol. Its where you learn how to control your conscious mind, which takes willpower, and listen. At first, the thoughts will come as if they are from you, but you will learn to discern what comes from you, and what comes from...somewhere else. All it takes is excitation of the neurological circuits, and experiential learning. It takes a bit of focus and concentration to shut the conscious mind up, but it is well worth it, for the knowledge you gain.

So, one of the things that the author advocates is using "contracts" with your energy mind above and beyond just visiting your Sanctuary. That only goes so far, anyways. And I had an interesting little experience with it last night. I couldn't focus on my Sanctuary at all, so I had a contract along the lines of "Show me something that will prove this [Project Sanctuary] to me." I found myself in a nightclub talking to a nice, but flirty woman, and we ended up talking about something which was the farthest thing from my mind at the time. So, I suppose that's some proof. I really don't think about these scenarios at all usually. I'm not really your average guy. xD

Anyways, it was an interesting experience, and went better for me than trying to bum around my Sanctuary. Give it a try sometime. Almost any contract will work as long as you leave the details up to the energy mind. That's the whole idea, after all.

Thanks for all your tips! I gave it a shot and this time I created my sanctuary while I was tired in the afternoon. Before I tried this exercise I always thought I'd create a nice beach like the ones in Thailand, but the landscape turned out completely different.

I then figured... ok... some things are popping up that I would NEVER have thought of, so it has to be from somewhere else and not something consciously controlled by me.

Moto, do you have any thoughts or experience on manifesting things in the sanctuary? For example, say you want a camera. You can visualize and see it clearly in your hands. Could you then create a wishing well in the sanctuary that is meant to manifest things in physical reality...and throw the camera in?

Will the subconscious get the message this way?

My Sanctuary is in a desert. It's summer, and the sun is near blinding. I'm in a large sandy, square area, which large black and gold walls enclose. In the middle is my "dwelling" which is a black and gold marble building. The middle has two floors and the sides (that stick out) have one. I've only been inside the left side (which I basically slide a lever across and push the door. Then I go down some steps, and there's a bed against one wall and crooked wooden table and chairs beside it with a lamp). So I don't know what the rest of the building contains. On top of the building is one of the wooden things from Assassin's Creed that are on the viewpoints. I sit there and stare out over the sand dunes.

At the back of the building is a curved stream. In the middle of it is where I placed my "portal". The portal is a round circle, like the ones from Spyro 2. Then I placed my wishing well to the side of it.

At the north wall, I found a golden button. I pressed it, which made the walls shift to the sides. However, beyond them was simply sand. I don't know what changes I want to make, but I want to put some sandstone slabs down because walking in sand all the time is kind of slow and hard. Maybe it's just my imagination! Quite a lot of the time I just "teleport" or think myself from one area to the next.

At first i found it really hard to invision myself walking around in first person, as whenever I imagine things it's always in third. But it's getting more vivid, and I try to not conciously control things. I'm still not sure exactly how I'm supposed to be doing this. I just close my eyes and invision my Sanctuary. I haven't read all of the files (thanks again Singularity125!) but she doesn't really mention exactly what to do. She just gives ideas for what to do explains how this can help with life. I don't know whether this is me, just daydreaming. Isn't it supposed to feel more real?

It's still nice to do though obviously, even if it does take effort to be in first person. Yesterday I tried asking my "friend" (I really need to think up something else to call him - I chose my reacurring dream character Asher) for some simple advice (I happened to be getting very frustrated at a piano piece I was playing) and tried very hard not to consciously think the answer. I'm not sure if I did, but he said "Calm yourself down, you know that you can do this, and within little time you'll figure it out. Just relax and let it come." And then he gave me a hug.

This is going to take some time to figure out! I find it mind-blowing when she says you can go from a simple Sanctuary to a whole world. Which I find hard to believe but I'll take it as it comes

You're welcome Raspberry! Glad I could help. ^^ Transitioning back to college life has left me too busy for the past few days to practice, sadly. Plus I think I'm coming down with something. I really hope to get back into it soon though.

      Manifestation

Test it out is my say on the matter. You can never know if something works...until you test it. I think thats a great way. Make sure you get the model right. Heck, I'll do it as well. You could prolly do abstract stuff, like writing down a name of a person, and then put= and write a blurb about how you want them in your life as well. Or personal transformations. Its a good idea.

As for realism, I don't think their is a limit as to how real it can get, but I think it will require a lot of concentration to rewire the brain to handle the increased energy load. This will take time, unless you use some sort of entheogene...who knows. Maybe someone will test that out as well . Sometimes it helps me to have my eyes open, makes the visuals a bit more real, although it pops in and out, although its just a focus issue on my part( I have really really strong survival instincts, that operates at all times, but I need to have really really powerful concentration instead basically). At times I can get so immersed, that I lose lucidity in the Sanctuary!!! Also sometimes its really hard to remember Sanctuary experiences, about as hard as remembering dream experiences. The difference between day dreaming is two fold. One is that its much more stable, takes more concentration, and isn't your thoughts. The other is that its you perceiving another place, rather than you creating a place to have fancy thoughts in. This other place is made by your dreaming mind.

This is where discernment comes into play. You have to discern when you go off on daydreams, and when your in the Sanctuary( day dreams don't have the continuity of the Sanctuary, and they tend to jump around with your thoughts, while you can have thoughts in your Sanctuary without affecting your environment). You tend to "find" stuff in the Sanctuary, while daydreams are more like non-lucid abstract thoughts. You experientially learn stuff in the Sanctuary, and places you go to from the Sanctuary, while daydreams you tend to see your own analysis as your environment. In the Sanctuary, you have to mentally "push' to see, feel, hear excetera. Like reality, to hear better, you have to focus, and push. To see better, you have to mentally push as well. While a day dream doesn't require much concentration, indeed, its more like the lapse of concentration or focus. Daydreams happen when you need to relax, and enter the thoughtless state for a moment to recharge your brain for more Sanctuary time.

Sometimes while I'm in the Sanctuary, I'll tend to think about what I WANT to do day dream like, instead of linear, auditory thoughts in reality.
All of experience is fun for me, whether in a dream, or in reality, because I love existing, learning, and continuously evolving and sustaining. Then again, who knows, I may not enjoy existing so much if I caught a face full of buckshot from an angry farmer. But hey, at least I'd got out with a bang.

Thanks guys. Singularity, I recommend green tea, it always gets rid of stuff for me I've just had prelims so I've been busy too. But now I'm back to routine

Yes it does take a lot of focus for me. I usually try at night when I've just gone to bed because there's no noise or distractions. After a couple of minutes of wandering around and trying to make things more real (focusing on senses as you said) when I "come back" I actually feel quite drained. Then I just go to sleep. But even though I'm not daydreaming (I'm aware) I still don't know whether I'm conciously controlling my enviroment. I usually just go along with whatever springs to mind. Still, last time I done it I pushed the button to open the gate and in galloped to knights on horseback. I didn't know if I was just making random things happen, so I left it (and went back to my maths class, oh the joy!).

I'm just going to keep reading the ebooks, and making it more real. Whenever anyone talks I'll just try and shut my thoughts up. Then maybe I'll start changing things. But I can already. I could do the exact same focus but in a different enviroment. I could conjure up whatever ever I feel like. I could blow the whole thing up and then just go back like nothing happened, which is why it doesn't feel so real and I wonder if I'm just fantasizing, something I've always been good at.

Oh, and I just got on the horsemans back and he rode through the desert to a cliff edge where there's a black medevial city. Not sure if that was my imagination running wild. But as I said, it's getting more real feeling. More dreamlike You know how dreams (non-lucids) seem real when you're actually in them but when you wake up they feel like a distant memory? It's like that.
