Tired of Having Boring Social-Related Dreams. Help??

Basically, my dreams suck! They're just weird experiences with people I know/go to my school, and I want something awesome!

Castles and spiraling staircases and psychedelic patterns and giant holes in the ground I can slip through and smoking caterpillars and bears with beards and furniture coming to life!

Any idea how i can go from boring dreams -------------> OHMAGAWD THIS IS FUCKIN AWESOME!

      ???

Think about weird things. Watch strange, creative, or inventive movies. Typically, dreams tend to be either a reflection of the individual, or what they experience during the day (this is called "day residue"). That's just the start of it.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

Some people naturally have crazy, exciting, adventurous dreams, while others almost always dream only about of things that could happen in life. There might not be much you can do about it.

depends on my mood.. if im feelin drawl and shabby I usually get the boring stuff, but if im upbeat and imaginative I get to see stuff like kids with Down Syndrome using super powers to save the world from douchebags. kinda interesting.

Create a DJ here for all the world to see and only record the dreams that are worthy. Look at my DJ from first to last, this is what I did and went from boring to WTF in a couple of weeks.

      thanks for the input everyone

hm, I wonder if that could just work. So basically you're saying not to document boring dreams, but to write down the ones that I personally thought were really cool.
And then from there they'll get cooler and cooler? Sounds pretty plausible. I'll give it a try

      *Moving to General Dream Discussion*

I've often wondered why most of the dreams I have (or remember to write down) are wild and fantastic, as opposed to realistic. I believe it might be because I spend so much time with my head in the clouds. I'm always watching fantasy/fiction-based media, reading those types of stories or playing those types of games. I think that the more the imagination is flexed, during the day, the more likely you are to have related dream content.

I also agree with the idea that writing down mostly those dreams that might turn out to be adventurous/trippy might make you more like to have them and/or remember them.

lol forgive me, but what exactly is it that is working??

*Side Note* After a quiz in my Medical Science class I decided to close my eyes and start "flexing my imagination" when after a while I actually felt myself almost fall into a dream. It was pretty cool

Maybe socialisation means a lot to you?

Or you can always watch a cool movie before you go to sleep.

I'd reccomend you look in depth in the dreams you are having about social situations. They can help reveal why you're having those dreams, maybe revealing any problems that weren't obvious at face value. Think about the people and the situations in them and why they might be important to you. I find that if I can overcome a certain feeling, related to the dreams that I have been having, the dreams will cease to happen.

As for making your dreams more creative, I'd say it's all about what you do throughout the day. If you want to have psychedelic dreams, watch psychedelic movies. If you don't want to dedicate watching a whole movie to your dream cause, just think heavily about strange stuff and daydream right before you go to sleep. I find that the video games I play throughout the day greatly affect my dreams. Be warned though, that because of some of the more violent video games I play, sometimes I have some pretty violent dreams.
