      Trickiness with false awakenings

In my dream this morning I false awakened and actually started to wright my dream into my dream dream journal. I had lot's of distraction from dream characters (probably to keep me from noticing changing text). When I woke up I had clear memories of both the main dream and the false awakening, which was a surprise cause I usually won't remember the main dream in cases of false awakenings. Does this ever happen to other people? Do you think going over what happened in the dream while still dreaming helped reaffirm the memories of the dream?

Once you begin to remember your dream(s) with clarity, and clearly remember details

The whole process will start to become easier, and you should get to the point where you are not forgetting the other earlier dreams (which is common.)

It probably helped you to remember while in the dream, but great that you are overcoming such a forgetfulness on both sides of both the
      dreamland & awake-ie time border.

I'm sure writing in your DJ while in a dream helped your recall significantly, since your focus was entirely on the details of your dream. That kept it fresh in your mind as you woke up. I also find that writing things down while in a dream will help me remember them when I wake up.

Like FithElement said, your dream recall will get better with time ad practice. Just remember to write in it every day right as you wake up, even if it's just fragments.
