have you ever seen someone do a RC in the real world

last week i was on a plane and i did my usual RC and then a thought occured to me, what if someone was watching me and knew I was doing a RC. Have you ever seen someone do what you thought was an RC? If you did what did you do?

I've never seen anyone else do one. If i saw someone do an rc, i'd probably have to do one myself to make sure that i wasn't dreaming.

Never, which is kind of sad. I wish more people knew about LDing.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

Same here. Although I did meet someone who heard of LDing before.

Lucky! I've heard my friends at school talk about sleep paralysis, but all they've said is that "it happens when you're really tired, and it's scary"... Didn't talk about a connection to LDing at all.

I always think about that. I was at the beach today and I wondered how many of the people there are lucid dreamers. Never seen someone else do a RC though.

Also, along with the "more people doing LDing" thing, I told my brother about it and he thought it was really cool, but when I offered to teach him he said he didn't want to do it. Kind of confuses me why people wouldn't want to do lucid dreaming when they can do anything they want in a LD.

I've told both of my parents about LDing. Both of them got very, very interested (my mom even made an account here), but then they lost that interest within a few days. >_< It probably has something to do with what kind of person you are; if my parents were imaginative or creative like me, or even just very curious, they'd probably really get into it.

Yeah. I even got them to make an account. They are still here although not super active.

i ask my kids about their dreams all the time, i had an LD one time and my daughter was in it. but i do not personally know anyone else who is into lucid dreaming, i even asked my older brother and he said

" i very rarely remember my dreams, if i do they are dark and the always come true". must be all the native-american blood in the family

My mom thought it was stupid, and my dad pretended to be interested, but he wasn't. xD

I've never seen anyone count their fingers or plug their nose in real life. I usually walk around and do just that in the subway though and I'm sure someone must have seen me. I've also got a hoodie with some lucid related text on, which will probably make those who knows what it is smile.

Lol. I do mental RCs. Completely inconspicuous And no, I've never seen anyone do an RC. Well, I might have, but maybe assumed they were on drugs. LSDGarfield's avy made me think of that I've done some weird things on LSD before

No, but if I did see someone do an RC and I didn't know about lucid dreaming, I'd be wondering what the hell they were doing.

True. When I'm around other people, I make sure that my RCing is more like just stopping and looking around. I quickly brush my nose (plugging it as I do), and try to breathe through it. If someone saw me doing this, they wouldn't take a second look and think something was off.

When I'm alone, though... things get a little more intense. I sniff walls and run my hand along objects.

No, but I've had friends tell me about lucid dreaming thinking I didn't already know what it was.

Also, lots of my friends know what sleep paralysis is, which I initially took by surprise.

It's strange how so many people know what SP is, but few of them know what LDing is.

Exactly. Same goes for my experiences with other people's willingness to talk about either of the two. They just seem to be more comfortable talking about SP than LDs, if any of them at all. Maybe the reasons why are the same.
