      Not remembering dreams...

I usually remember a dream every couple of days and would write it down, but now I haven't remembered a dream for a week. I'm always pumped up and I'm ready for the dream and I even write down some mantras over and over and then think it while I'm in bed, but when I wake up, I don't remember any. How do I fix this.

Maybe practice waking up after every dream? Or if you can't, try WBTB with an alarm clock once or twice in a night. Works well for me. And practice not moving and keeping your eyes shut right when you wake up and ask yourself, what was I just doing? or what was I just thinking about? or what was I just feeling?

hope this helps! and I hope I didn't just repeat everything you have already read

What do you do when you wake up?
Do you get enough sleep, I don't dream (up to standard) untill weekends because I don't get enough sleep during the weekday to recall efficiently.
Have you tried lying down and attempting to remember, I tend to remember my dreams just letting my mind wander for 5 minutes.
You could try B6 vitamin as it improves recall, you can pick it up at any drug store.
Good luck, reply to the questions and it will give me a better idea of what the problem could be.

If you don't remember anything at all then you could be just not dreaming(you still dream of course but they might not be projected).

Yea, a WBTB would probably help you out if you can fit it into your sleep schedule. I've found that when I wake up in the middle of the night (weather I want to or not) I always remember dreams I've had.

Try to use a mantra that will get you to wake up during each dream, or at the end of the dream when it starts to fade away. It worked once for me, and I'm hoping to get up to 2/3 dreams a night using this.

I think the explanation is that blakethegrea was making stuff up.

look to remember dreams you have to sleep on regular patterns with a minimum of six hours sleep
if you have very poor recall force yourself to wake up after 4.5 hours of sleep stay 0.5 TO 1 hour awake then go back to sleep

I have a seven hour sleep schedule, when I wake up, my alarm rings so I turn it off, then lay there and think "what was I dreaming?" I just see pitch back with no thoughts until I give up. Maybe the alarm ruins it because I have to turn it off. I'll try waking in the middle of the night (between 4 to 6 hours). I'll be gone for the weekend at Arizona so won't be able to reply or look at your post, but keep giving ideas please.

Maybe your older, but 7 hours sleep causes me to remember little of my dreams, it's the dream that happen between 7-9 hours which are best recalled for me.
Don't force yourself to remember the dream, just let your mind wander, it will resume a similar thought that you had recently and it could be the dream.
Alarms and WBTB startle me, and might affect recall that way, but I can't be sure.
      Good luck

If you think it's the alarm shredding your dreams, try setting the tone to a more subtle one.
