Specifically naming a lucid.

I was looking at people's signatures and adding a list myself and wondered - how can you even name a lucid? I mean wild is pretty obvious but with others.. how can you say it is a MILD or DILD? I mean My first lucid I realised I was dreaming randomly - then confirmed it with a RC. Is it then a DILD or a MILD? I'd also just gone back to sleep back into my dream - so was it a DEILD? Or what? I'm having trouble putting it into a list, heh, and wondered if anyone else has the same problem or I am missing something.

Ok, so MILD is mnemonic induced lucid dreams - if you use auto suggestion or mantras while falling asleep to achieve lucidity

DILD - if while in a dream, you realise youre dreaming, usually through an RC of some sort like nose plugging etc

DEILD - is if you wake up from a dream, and use the dield technique to re-enter the dream state, remaining lucid (not moving, relaxing, visulizing your dream etc)

It makes no difference. There is only DILD and WILD.

There are only 2 types of Lucid Dreams -
1. DILD - dream initiated
2. WILD - wake initiated

1. DILD - all lucid dreams, that start inside of a regular dream, regardless of induction technique (what you practiced)
You can achieve it by
a) MILD (mnemonically induced - mantras before bed)
b) RCs and awareness training
c) both

2. WILD - all lucid dreams, that start by you entering a lucid dream from waking state without loss of consciosness
a) DEILD
b) FILD
and all other methods, that fall into this criteria

So basically you just pay attention when did you realize you are dreaming. Was it inside of regular dream, when you suddenly for whatever reason realized, that you are in a dream? Or did you lay down, waited for a dream to start, and entered a dream while still awake and consciouss?

Anybody feel free to correct me, if I'm wrong.

Ok I understand what people are trying to explain now. Cheers Gab. What you wrote sounds correct to me. I just thought the OP was asking what the abbreviations meant, but yeah you did a great job of explaining!
