Exclamation So confused about this dream! Help!

I've been in a relationship with my current boyfriend for a year and 3 months. And the past week i've been having a reoccurring dream about another guy. Someone who I know, but don't know personally because he's famous (yes, I know this is silly), and I actually got to meet him 2 weeks ago at a concert. In my dream this guy is my boyfriend, and it feels so normal to me in my dream, I even went as far as kissing him in this last dream. and when I wake up I feel so strongly for him. Whenever I see a picture or video of him, I feel as if i've known him forever, and like he knows me too, but i know that's not the case. I'm just curious if my dream has any meaning other than the obvious of me fantasizing. And also, my feelings for my real boyfriend feel pushed to the side, because I feel like i'm more connected to the guy in my dreams.

Im guessing that you think about this man during the day, and so it comes back in your dreams. Its nothing to worry about, completely natural. Welcome to DV!

Yea I agree. That looks normal to me. Fantasies tend to take up our attention, so you might feel your other relationships slowly moving down the priority list.

You should keep reminding yourself which relationships you intend on keeping, and tell yourself those fantasies are just fantasies. Sometimes, just knowing that a fantasy of yours is coming true in a dream will make you feel good to the point that you end up putting more focus on the fantasy, which in turn makes you feel even better, which makes you put even more focus on the fantasy, and the cycle goes on.

Spend more time with your boyfriend, and whatever happens in your dreams, try to make up for it in real life

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

It just goes to show that if we give much energy to our thoughts during our waking moments they will carry on into our dreams. This is nothing new, but it does show that the energy in our waking moments also exists in dreams, therefore it's kind of like a circle of energy - give more energy to those thoughts in your waking moments and you will dream about the same thoughts - and since you dreamed about those thoughts and that energy - it will be something you will continue to experience through out your day.
