      Question !

      Hi im new:

I haven't got a job at the moment so forthe past few nights ive ended up going to bed at 3am.

I end up waking up about 7 or 8 an because im very tired i end up falling back asleep within minutes of waking up.

Then i usually dream an i can remember the dream when i actually wake up. Just wondering has this happened to anyone else before an is there a name to it?

      Wanna understand why that happens

It's weird because this is the 3rd day in a row i have gone to sleep late, woken up an gone back to sleep 2 minutes later an dreamed. Then i remember the dream !

      Thanks :

I think it's because during the first few hours of sleep your REM cycles (in which you dream) are very short.
During the later hours of sleep your REM cycles take longer which means more and longer dreams, which in turn enhances the chance of remembering them.

What you're doing right now looks like WBTB to me.

At least that's how I look at it. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I was about to say, your natural sleep cycle looks like a WBTB which is what some people who want to remember their dreams strive for. My partner is like you, except he works during the day. He gets up at 5:30 am, works all day, goes to sleep around 9 pm, and gets up at 11, goes back down within a minute or so, wakes up again at 12-1 am, stays up an hour or so, wakes up again around 4, gets most of his restful sleep between 3 am and 5 am. Its the wee hours when the veil is the thinnest...that stir him up the most. Its just that his mind is so busy he cant sleep for longer than 1-2 hours a spurt, so he suffers from constant dreams, and he would give anything to not remember them because they are always nightmares. But hes learning to recognize when hes aware. He's been reading the education material found at this site that I downloaded
